Half-way through the year. Check-In. :)

Hey, all.

It's been a while. We are in the midst of the year and I wanted to touch base with everyone. The last time I did this (back in January!) I was pleasantly surprised by the responses I got. To some it might seem a little hokey or like an AA meeting, but what's wrong with that? ;) I adore my fellow USMers. The posts don't roll in like they used to. So, I'm reaching out.

What TV shows are you watching?

What's in your playlist (what music are you listening to) RIGHT now?

Any books you're reading?

Hobbies/projects you've been working on?

Share something I can't just read in your profile. What's on your mind?

As for me, things are looking up. Dad's getting better everyday; he has to do physical therapy so his body accepts the titanium plate in his wrist. Living at home as an adult is tough. But, I'm blessed. I decided to stay at my current job. They've given me more hours (I now teach a workshop for writing and vocabulary) and this summer our student enrollment will be doubling, thankfully. Most teachers get a summer break, but not when you're at a language school. I'm happy about that. I could use a vacation. I had visited my cousin in San Francisco last month. Been going to the gym and practicing yoga to take better care of myself. I'd gone on an awful date recently. LOL. It wasn't even supposed to be a date. Then he came on too strong. Besides, I'm not over my last boyfriend though we broke up a year ago and are still friends. I'm all about dating myself right now and taking care of me. Gotta get some debt paid off and get back in school to get my MA. Settling into our new, temporary home at my grandparents' house.

Anyway, my current TV shows are Game of Thrones, Supernatural, Feed the Beast (though I might drop watching it), re-watching Hannibal, finished Enlightened, Transparent, Master of None, The Path, etc. So many shows I need to start watching and I'm sure I left some out here. In my playlist: Lana del Rey, Eisley, Darren Hayes, Hozier, and Twenty One Pilots --to name a few.

My best friend had gotten me a gift card to Barnes and Noble, so I picked up THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN

Been too busy and tired for hobbies or projects, though I really should draw and write more. I've been reading Tarot to help people mostly friends.

Ah, this got long. lol. That's what I get for not posting on here more often.

Ok, enough about me. Your turn!

Nice to hear from ya. I'm not all that active these days myself but I thought I'd say hi and answer a few of your questions.
TV Shows-mostly watching old reruns of MASH and Full House these days, would love to see Fuller House but I haven't gotten around to getting netflix.
Music-Currently nothing. But I've been listening to a lot of oldies lately.
Book-not reading any book currently, though I do have some holds to pick up at the library.
No hobbies/project currently, just work and house work.

Date: 6/12/2016 4:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 27705    Hi Mayuka, It is nice to see you Glad you seem to be doing well. Girl on the Train is a good read hope you enjoy it.

What TV shows are you watching? Bones, Supernatural, Blue Bloods and Bachelorette (kind of a guilty pleasure of mine)

What's in your playlist (what music are you listening to) RIGHT now? currently been listening to a lot of 90s music

Any books you're reading? sadly nothing, i am getting ready to move so my library of books is sitting in boxes at the moment

Hobbies/projects you've been working on? Due to a torn meniscus I am not weight lifting or running like usual. Currently I am just focused on moving in 3 weeks. My husband took a job in Manhattan and I took a job at West Point Military Academy so we are moving back to the Hudson Valley near family.

Share something I can't just read in your profile. What's on your mind? My mind currently focused on all the materialistic things we get throughout life that we never really need and how I would like to change that. I have donated so many "things" it feels good to be free of materialism and focus on the adventures ahead.

Date: 6/12/2016 5:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 28363    You are very kind to reach out to us and post on the big board, so I thought I would take a moment to respond to your questions.

TV shows - I used to be a fan of survival shows until about 2 weeks ago when I got so busy with life that I stopped watching all tv whatsoever.

Playlist - None, I listen to the radio 94.7 fm out of Austin.

Books - None, I do lots of research for projects I'm working on and planning for in the future.

Hobbies - LOL, at this time cleaning has apparently become my number one hobby but I am in process of replanting two earth boxes with vegetables and herbs. I have all the parts and plants but it is so hot outside, I can only do so much at one time until I need to cool off.

Something you can't read in my profile... hmmm - I have learned to be fond of cats. I'm not a fan of heavy drinkers, sloppy spillers or impaired drivers.

Have a wonderful day, stay strong and thank you for sharing

Date: 6/12/2016 7:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 22721    My shows are Restraunt Impossible, and Hotel Impossible. Golden Girls, when I can find it.

Playlist is Tarja, Within Temptation, and Vanilla Ninja, and E- Nomine.

I love watching thunderstorms, except when I'm trying to sleep.

What TV shows are you watching? Orphan Black... "You threaten babies" has become my creed.

Date: 6/13/2016 6:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 21903    You sound well!! Okay, this is fun! Shows I'm watching: Game of Thrones (we may have to start gossiping after every episode now that I"m off work for the summer--not that anyone I work with even watches! I was at work all, "Hold the door! " an no one knew what I meant, and I couldn't explain it because most of them all "plan on watching it eventually," so I can't ruin it!!), and The Walking Dead. Otherwise we run through old series on a regular on Netflix like The Office and How I Met Your Mother. I'm also rewatching Six Feet Under - which I never finished years ago when it was on.

My playlist is so random right now. I am listening to Vitamin String Quartet - they are (obviously) a string quartet that has covered a ton of music - even the artists you named! Check it out - so relaxing and cool! I also listen to what you named and, lately, I've been listening to soundtracks from musicals (like Phantom of the Opera and Jekyll and Hyde).

Books: Right now I'm reading The New Jim Crow and in the lineup is the third book in Justin Cronin's The Passage Trilogy (City of Mirrors)--I've literally waited 2 years or so for that darn book to come out!! Remind me never to start a series until it's already all published next time!

Hobbies or projects: I'm trying to edit a story I posted on here years back so that I can start moving towards trying to get that published - along with the other books I have planned out already in that series. I also enjoy knitting, but may take a break from that to try and get back into sewing.. I have a Seersucker dress I cut out almost two years ago that I'd LOVE to get put together in time for my honeymoon! (keep dreaming, it's not that far off!).

Something you can't read in my profile (but you already know, so I'm cheating) is that I just got married on Saturday! Soon we will go on a honeymoon to Jamaica! He keeps joking about putting a baby in me, so we'll just play that by ear and see what happens. haha! No rush there really!

So good seeing you around these parts (though you probably weren't as MIA lately as me, so I should be ashamed for disappearing for so long!).

Date: 6/13/2016 8:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37150    @Roxie, Cute taggie! Congratulations!
Date: 6/13/2016 8:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37150    @CelticRiver Sounds relaxing. I listen to Full Apple Tree radio on Pandora when I want to relax. Check out Tao of Healing and Tao of peace.
Date: 6/27/2016 5:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 26303    How refreshing to hear someone is taking care of themselves before reconnecting with another...Love it!

I've checked in for the first time in ages...life just gets busy.

TV shows: Masterchef (Australian) and on Netflix, Grace and Frankie...those girls crack me up.

Playlist: don't have one...radio does me well enough.

Reading: Nothing at the moment...sadly, social media and Reader's Digest seems to be my reading material of late.

Hobbies/Interests: I'm into photography, although, lately I haven't really had the camera out much. Having said that, I was at my two nieces Debutante Ball this week, and took photos. I've enjoyed editing them. I've also recently purchased another editing program, and as today was the first day of my holidays, I sat and played around with it. Hours lost! LOL
