Field Of Green

I saw you lying on your back
your eyes were closed,
you looked so relaxed.

It was beneath a tree in a city park
and the distant traffic sounds mingled
with those of children playing.

The grass beneath you moved
and a gentle breeze blew across
your cheeks.

Your warm skin tingled
as a cloud passed in front of the sun.
Did you feel the slight drop
in temperature?

The smell of fresh cut grass
and honeysuckle
brought a smile to your face
as you released an audible sigh.

You opened your eyes to see
a beautiful world ~
In the middle of a lush
grass field of green.

I loved this poem my friend !!! It speaks to the peace of mind that we can feel when nothing in particular is touching our lives. A gentle breeze, smell of fresh cut grass and honeysuckle. If I could think of my favorite place to be right now, it would include all these 'favorite things' to quote Julie Andrews.
