They could fill the cultural identity issues by embracing and reproducing their culture for display and profit, creating a tourism industry. Set apart some tribal land and remove all materials of modern society. Replace them with tee pees and communal rooms and try to reproduce how it was in the old days. They could sell immersion packages to tourists to let them also embrace being close to nature - demonstrating all the native skills and technology. The great spirit would like it that way. |

Part of our studies in Sociology was depression among native teens... and I had something to say but I'm going to go with Dunno here but I am going to add this. When I can't find my footing- I learned a long time ago, that "no one" is going to tell me I can't find my footing because I am trying to climb up on the wrong side of the horse. If no one thinks you are of value you must find a way to find value in the best friend you've got- you... and then you come out and breathe- find yourself accepting the horse, and find all those "no- ones" clapping for you. |
