~+Faith like a grain of Mustard Seed+~
Good afternoon my dear Angels of USM------- Hoping this week is going very well for all. It’s been rather windy and cold here in the Bluegrass state this afternoon. We’re having “Dogwood Winter” here where we are.
The Redbud trees are blooming and soon the Dogwoods themselves. If you garden, then you know not to plant any crops until the Dogwoods have begun to bloom. Spring; it’s such a gorgeous time of the year. Life renewing itself. New beginnings. The fragrance of the Plum and Sarvis trees this time of the year, I wonder if there is any sweeter. Isn’t it any wonder the honeybees and butterflies are attracted to them. While we are at home resting today, it was very early Monday morning, we got up at 4:00am and drove to the hospital for the 8:00am arrival time.
By 10:05 I stood looking out the window of St Mary’s Medical Center’s Heart Institute watching the rain fall, with a strong resolve; a Faith and expectation of nothing but a good outcome while my honey sweetness was under- going a five hour ( almost 6 hr ), peripheral angioplasty with two stents. In 2013 it was Coronary By-Pass Surgery, I recall the long walk down the corridor and having to stop once reaching the doors of the OR. When a feeling of helplessness threatened to overwhelm me, it was then I felt my Faith rise up, when fear reared its ugly head----Faith met it there.
After this surgery, drs had briefly mentioned the peripheral blockage, but it has taken until now for this procedure with intervention, to occur. Perhaps due to a lot of red tape and other variables. None of which is excusable in my estimation, opinion, though we’re thankful to be half way through to complete the procedure-----we meet again in about three weeks for the other procedure and though the dr is saying it may take 3 to 4 more procedures----we’re praying only one more will be necessary. I’ve simply been praying that much more. Though I won’t say, I didn’t feel fear well up this time as well, threatening to overcome. It was then, I was reminded of God’s infallible Word------I Prayed that much harder, remembering God’s Promises and standing firmly on them. It was during my Prayer that I was also impressed upon with a reminder of the story of David. (God is so GOOD to us!)
When the little shepherd boy was face to face with Goliath, every one it seemed continued to discourage him, telling him it wasn’t possible to defeat him. No doubt, he was a huge warrior by the standards of the day. Perhaps with most, they would have gave up-----or ran in fear -------but not the little shepherd boy, no, not David!------When he was reminded of how big the giant was------I could almost hear him say------“You should see how BIG my God is!!”
When we face giants in our own lives, maybe not in the form of the Philistine giant Goliath but a giant in the form and sense of a financial, or a health crisis------ Or When the doctor gives a negative report, or the boss comes to inform us we’re being laid off or replaced. When a loved one is suddenly ill, or passes away, when a spouse, it seems from out of the blue decides they want to end the marriage.-----------When Your world turns upside down, You feel as if You are tossed like a leaf in a hurricane wind------------
Yet in that moment of adversity, of confusion, discouragement there is a place You can turn, where you can go. And His Word says in Matthew 17:20 and in Luke 17:6 When Jesus says, "if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" Jesus promises "it will move" [Matthew 17:20]; "it will be done" [Matthew 21:21]; it "shall come to pass" [Mark 11:23]; and it will "obey you" [Luke 17:6].
The Mustard plant grows to a remarkable size in comparison to the original mustard seed. Jesus referred to the principles of the Kingdom of God as a living thing that grows within us to produce remarkable things [Mark 4:30-32, Luke 13:18-20].
Jesus talks about the quantity of faith that it takes to do the impossible. It is not the quantity of your faith but the quality of faith (confidence) you have in God and God's Word. Jesus compares mustard seeds to mountains. Jesus says that it only takes a mustard seed amount of faith (confidence) in the principles of the Kingdom of God to remove huge barriers such as mountains. Jesus said if you have a mustard seed amount of faith in the Word of God, nothing would be impossible to you.
So, if your faith be either small as a mustard seed or greater than------When it comes to faith in God and in His Word, His Principles-------nothing is impossible----when man says it’s not possible-------Do You feel that faith well up inside of you? It’s true, it is not possible with man-----but with God it is Possible! I was reminded to keep my Faith stirred up, just as Paul reminded Timothy. With the times we’re now living in and not knowing what we may face, we’re going to need every ounce of Faith and instead of feeling overwhelmed when faced with a giant, remind those troubles and trials how Big GOD is-------
When fear comes calling and knocking at your door, answer with Faith—Amen!!?-----For surely Nothing is too great or too hard or difficult for GOD.-----------Afterall; He IS the Creator of The Universe, The Maker of Heaven and Earth-----laying back, separating the oceans of the deep from the sky like a curtain ( Proverbs 8:29 When God separated the sea, laying its boundaries )
I love that verse where God reminded Job; a Righteous man by all accounts. ‘Where were You when I laid the foundations of the world’ Job 38:4 ------ Who are we to question the Sovereignty of a Mighty God--------Instead we must put our confidence, our Faith in a God who Can, a God who is BIGGER than any trouble you might face in life. No matter what fear says, Faith answers, Yes I can!
~Blessings~
