Horizontal Bounce Back
Yesterday, as I was taking Heidi, my schnauzy dog- child around the park, she stopped and pointed with her cropped ears and her pointed nose. I only heard the squirrel’s bark- and then it was off like a shot High- tailing it up a tree. After the squirrel was secure I let Heidi “chase’ it up a tree. From there the squirrel started throwing trash at her- twigs, leaves, loose bark- so knowing this was a serious squirrel Heidi and I left it in peace. The day was just fantastic. Warm enough for no sweater- brisk enough that if you were not moving you could feel the coolness about. When we got home Heidi could not sit still for her morning groom- and neither could I. We both had to get back out in that beautiful weather. So I let her out in the back yard and so before joining her I ran back to gather my sticks thinking of getting some practice in… it’s been a while.
The sticks are an awkward bundle. There is one the length of my hand, two 4 feet ones (one to practice clubbing, and one for slicing), a six foot staff, a couple rice beaters and the rubber chucks- I looked around and we had just our grandchild over for a visit and the chucks with chains were no- where to be found at quick glance- and a beautiful day waiting for me.
With bundle precariously gathered, I made a bee line for the archway.I felt the bundle shift just in a split-
And then it was over in a blink. Now this was a mystery. I looked at the window and the Sun was shining only in one spot- in the middle of the room with me in it- and I was resounded-ly hard on my butt on floor.
After I gathered my breath I named this great defense THE Horizontal Bounce Back Block. This mystery is done. How it changed my life:What do you call a cross between a Chihuaha and a Pit Bull. A Chewhuabull.
