Check-In

Hi, all!

So, I thought it would be fun to check in with you all.

So, please, tell us something you want us to know about you.

Please only share what you're comfortable with.

I got this idea when I went to a Tarot class and the teacher had us do this activity. I used it with my students and it was fun and effective.

I'll start.

Hi, my name is Michelle, I'm 30 years old and at this point, I'm trying to get myself and my finances together, so I can get an apartment with a couple friends, so I can move out of my parents' house. I love them and they have helped me, but I have to move on with my life and be more independent. Managing my financial situation is proving to be quite difficult. I'm trying not to make the same mistakes as in the past, but it seems you can't live without debt. Also, I've always tried not to believe in "meant to be" or "fate," but when I do what I can to take control of my life, circumstances happen otherwise.

Your turn. ;-)

Date: 1/11/2016 7:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    Hi, my name is Darla. I am 34 years old and a mother of 2 awesome kiddos. I am a Project Manager for a home builder. I bought a 30' sailboat in the Florida Keys about 4 years ago, and try to get down there once or twice a year to play around. This year hasn't been as good to us financially, so she is still sitting waiting for us to pay a visit. I have 2 kitties. We just lost our furry son (dog) on New Years Eve.

I am going through a lot right now, but trying to keep my head up. My hobbies include riding my motorcycle (Ninja 250), jetskiing, singing, drawing, the ocean, poetry, and learning to play my guitar. I am also dabbling in songwriting.

Date: 1/12/2016 6:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    Hi, my name is Ginger. I am 60 (but feel it is the new 35 and 3/4 ). I live just outside Seattle Washington and can never picture living anywhere else. We live in an area where there are no fences and everyone has acreage. We get frequent visits from all kinds of wildlife from the forests, including raccoon's, possums, deer, coyotes, bobcats and a black bear(scary, when I had to yell at it to not have a baby raccoon for lunch). I have an amazing husband that is my grade school sweetheart. We have been married for 43 glorious years. We have one daughter who is terrific and lives just a few miles away. She is married to a wonderful guy and enjoying a good life. The list of art and crafts that I really enjoy doing is so long that there isn't time to list them all. I love cooking and baking too, and brew my own Kambucha as a base for daily fruit and veggie smoothies I make for hubby and myself. I'm looking forward to a fantastic 2016, and hope you all are too

Date: 1/13/2016 10:52:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37150    I enjoyed reading your check-ins! It's great to hear from you all. Thank you for sharing. Ginger, that Kambucha sounds fantastic. We are so human and dealing with so much. We have to be here to support each other. Also, I hoped to perk up the site a bit and bring us together. Hugs to you all. I see some very familiar taggies!
Date: 1/14/2016 3:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 8024    Hey there cc here, I'm not perfect but sometimes I try too hard to be and that often leads to a major fail..
I have this incredible woman in my life, I don't give her enough recognition, but without her my life would be so far incomplete..
My left sided thinking often leads to trouble for me so, I push myself to do the right thing..
I often feel I don't deserve the magical sparkling gifts I realize that I do have..
I am thankful that the light that I feel and see is My God and some of the most amazingly brilliant and beautiful souls..
I've come to realization that I truly love the earth and wish it no more harm..
For the last 11 years I've built and rebuilt, somehow kept growing a small greenhouse business-
It is a place I cut out that was an old pasture surrounded by rivers and a 17 acre patch of woods..
There are a lot of special people in my life, some I see some so far away, some I've not yet even had the opportunity to meet..
I have these really crazy kids Lily, Maddie, Devin, Alex I love them more then life itself..
I trust too much but I choose to believe in you, that you have something good to teach so that this world will become a better place .. OMG now I've gone and said too much..27c

Date: 1/15/2016 7:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 12118    I'm Arielle, recently back on USM from a too-long hiatus. I live in El Paso with my cat, Toki Edgecrusher Wartooth TrashcanMan. Toki, for short. I'm a geriatric nurse and I absolutely adore my work. I am excited to be moving back home to Alabama this year so I can get my beloved thunderstorms and woods back into my life. Date: 1/18/2016 8:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 31765    Hi my name is Altaira and I just turned 46 yesterday. I live in Texas. I have three fur kids, two boys and a girl. The Boyes are Little Man and Peggy and they're both 11 years old. The little girl is Lou, aka The Princess. She's four years old. They're all rescues but I think they actually rescued me. Peggy has three legs and is blind in his left eye..b I found him in the back yard many Yeats ago. He was starving and wild. It took time but I tamed him and coaxed him into the house. He's never left since.

My favorite hobby was embroidery cross stitch and crochet. But I've lost my vision due to diabetes so I can't do that anymore.

My biggest secret is that I've become addicted to Dr. Phil lol...I enjoy his show and ha e actually learned some things about myself and some things that ate helping me through my pending divorce.

That's about it about me thanks for the fun post.
