Steve Harvey Has trouble with his crowns.

Miss Universe pageant host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner at the end of Sunday night's big show in Las Vegas and was forced to make an embarrassing apology.

After announcing Miss USA, Olivia Jordan, as the third runner-up, Harvey initially named Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo, as the night's big winner, relegating the remaining contestant, Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurzbach, to the second runner-up spot.

But after Arevalo received the crown and a bouquet of flowers, Harvey announced he had made an error and that Wurzbach was in fact the winner.

A stunned Wurzbach, who had taken her place with the other contestants behind Arevalo, then walked out to center stage. Last year's Miss Universe, Colombia's Paulina Vega, then removed the crown from Avrevalo's head and placed it on Wurtzbach.

Author's Note: Miss Philippines says to the effect when we have live TV, we will see more (human errors). I actually saw something like this happen a while back in the athletic world and the relinquished replied that he did not earn it, then it wasn't his.

Unfortunately, there is no reward in being a victim..., but on the other side, I had a step-sister that was Miss Ohio. I would have felt so bad, if that had been her.

So... what should the ladies do- put on their big girl panties and live another day or take Mr. Harvey and have him do as he offered- be accountable, and how... ? Or any other thoughts on this touching subject.

I will make a note here: I, America, and the Pageant ladies in waiting and the judges all determined the victor (or came to the same conclusion) and the choice was not easy: Miss Colombia was beautiful radiant and confident while Miss Philippines was classical, elegant and compassionate, and I feel personally that Miss Philippines has handled this controversy with humility and aplomb, and appropriateness.

Date: 12/21/2015 2:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 28363    I was watching this on tv last night and they did not show the part where the Colombian was in front with the crown waving. They announced she was runner up and then went right to the Phillipino winner. I only saw the mix up on a video online. Thanks for sharing and the dude should be fired, he's a terrible host.
Date: 12/22/2015 12:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 53961    I felt bad for Steve. You could tell he felt bad. Perhaps the only name on the card he was given to read from should have been the winner. Apparently there was more than one.
Date: 12/22/2015 10:43:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62927    At first I was really mad. But on a talk show they discussed how US culture ingrains that the first is the winner. In this case the first was the runner up... Therefore as I have come to learn: the eye may behold - according to expectations, as in he was set on auto- pilot for perfection and the first was the winner. Not as it should have been with this exception- the runner up.
