Just Checking In! :)

Hey!! I haven't commented or posted anything on USM in eons. But I have been here!! Lurking, totally creepy. And I'm going to do my best to start commenting and posting!!

 So... gee, I don't even know if most people will know who I am. I'm a relative newbie, 2009, or 10, I think? But regardless, I'm going to put up a little update on my life!

My kiddos are ten and four. Both homeschooled, and both loving it. Adia is hugely obsessed with minecraft right now. It's so strange seeing her grow up. Five years ago she was all about Disney princesses and all things girly. Now? When she's not doing school or playing outside with her friends, she's either inside reading or playing Minecraft and listening to music. Luckily though, she has some seriously awesome taste in music.




My four year old, Elias, is great! He had a really rough beginning, not doing much growing and stuff like that. Though, I think we are past that now... 4 and a half years old and he just hit 40 lbs!!! He does have some other issues going on, and he will need surgery at least a couple more times in his life, but he's happy and playful and active. So, it works!!




So lets see... me... I've been flexing my creative muscles, which is fun. I do all kinds of creative junk, painting, sewing, knitting, mixed media art... whatever interests me when I feel like being artsy. 
I've recently gotten very close with my birth family, which is awesome. I'm thirty three years old and my birth mother invited me over for Thanksgiving for the first time ever last week. Sadly, we couldn't find her new house, but we did see a shooting star and a fox! And a couple days later we went during the day and were able to find it. And since I did it for the kiddos, I'll do it for me:



My great grandfather just passed away the end of October. He was ninety nine, so he had a wonderful long life... he never wanted to live to be one hundred... he was adamant about not hitting that milestone. I was talking with my little sister and said "Ya know, he was so stubborn... thats why he passed away now, because if he made it til Christmas, he knew we'd all be expecting him to make it another six months til his 100th birthday. And he did not want to hit 100!!"

And my husband. He's good. He works nights, 6pm - 6am, but he loves it, he's made friends, and I'm ok with the hours. It means I'm 99% of the time the only parent around, as he sleeps all day and works all night, but I kind of enjoy it. Sometimes it gets tiring and I would love a break, but really, too soon my kids won't need me as much as they do now, so I'm going to enjoy it for now!!
