I don't want to call Tommy,a space cadet

but he was quite out there,you know?

he always seemed distracted,gazing at things, maybe things,no one else could see

My little brother,David,was only two so he does not recall any of these events

halloween evening had finally arrived, my costume was set,bionic,tin foil arm and all my parents had volunteered to watch us trick or treat,two other friends,the Zimmerman twins,Peter and Chris would be trick or treating with us

all four of us hooted and hollered as we went from door to door,my parents waiting at the curb

Tommy was right beside me,most of the time and Peter and Chris taking the lead one lady handed out comic books cool,I heard Tommy exclaim

then the world I knew

turned upside down

there was no sign or scream nothing I just turned to my right,and Tommy was

gone

the twins heard and saw nothing either my parents panicked,the police came right away

Tommy's cowboy hat was found,only three houses down

just laying on the sidewalk,as if waiting for Tommy

Tommy's parents blamed my parents,it got pretty ugly they eventually moved away,this event ruined halloween

for me

in my dreams,I saw Tommy,he was asking for help

he said he was trapped in another time and place

sometimes,when I would walk to school

I could hear his faint voice,pleading

HELP ME

but

do?
