Hello, USM! You know what time it is~

Today's product is the Flamingo Waterproof Fiber Mascara. As most of the packaging is in Chinese, I don't know precisely what the product is called, but the brand appears to either have Flamingo in the name or that is the complete translation of the name. Either way, it shouldn't be hard to find this product if you simply searched "fiber mascara" or something similar.

Anyways! I'm sure many of you have heard of fiber mascara but in case you haven't, this product is a dual mascara. One end is the actual mascara and the other end are these tiny little fibers, almost like black lint, that you comb onto your lashes while the mascara is still wet, after which you apply a second coat of mascara to seal the fibers in. This is supposed to add tons of length and volume to your lashes without the dreaded 'spider leg' look you'd get from applying countless layers of mascara.

My lashes are very...meh. They're very fine, sparse, and next to invisible. Not bad, especially since they serve their basic function of keeping debris out of my eye, but I yearn for long, thick, beautiful lashes. When I first learn of fiber mascara, I thought this was something I had to try for myself.

So! Cut to a month later, when I received the product in the mail. I tested two coats of the fibers on my right eye while I used two coats of just the mascara on my left. My goodness, after only one coat with the fibers, I already noticed a difference! WOW! My lashes appeared to double in length. I was amazed!

This mascara isn't that hard to work with. I thought I was going to end up with a mess on my eyelashes that looked like I rubbed black lint on my eyes and while it's a little tricky at first, it's not that hard to smooth it out and make the lashes look more natural.

I purchased this mascara for only $2.31, so I'd say I found quite a bargain. You should definitely give this product a try!

Below I've posted photos for comparison, as well as a picture of the actual product. Again, I applied two coats of the mascara only on my left eye and on the right, two coats of the mascara with the fiber. I didn't curl my lashes or do anything else to them. I could have smoothed the product out a little more, but my lashes don't look super linty from a normal distance.

And yes, I tested the mascara against water and it is most certainly waterproof!

I don't know what the fibers are made of, but they're very soft, so you don't have to worry about them scratching your eyeball if you get them in your eye. I got a little bit of the fibers in my eye and an actual eyelash hurts a lot more, lol! I actually went back and did a tear test. A little bit of the mascara came off, but I'm not surprised. I haven't met a mascara yet (waterproof or not) that's tearproof!
