Thanks for that suggestion! I've tried several products in the past, mostly blackhead cleansers, that really made little to no difference to my skin. I end up having to squeeze the particularly bad blackheads out, which I don't like due to the trauma it puts on the skin and the pore. You know, Nani, I've actually learned that some people, for whatever reason, simply can't use products like this. I met someone who, like me, never gets results from things like nose strips and this mask. I think it has to do with how deep the blackheads are in your skin because mine appear to be deeper than normal, but I don't know if that's really the case or not. |

What a good review of this product. You always get to the nitty gritty of the product and what it does or does not do. I love the packaging, because it makes this product look like a much more expensive brand. Sounds like it would be good as a regular masque, but not for the extreme removal of gunk in pores. I have to agree with what the 'author only' said. I also use bentonite clay and mix it with my other facial cleansers, put it in my astringents and make a masque out of it. It doesn't get much more natural and it works wonders for the skin. Also this clay powder is really inexpensive and lasts a long time. Oh, also bentonite mixed with 50% water, and 50% apple cider vinegar can really help remove all the hair products out of our hair. Just apply to hair in the shower and rinse out. I do this before putting the conditioner into my hair. |

Date: 9/5/2015 5:42:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 66755 AO, you're right about a lot of non-comedogenic products actually being comedogenic. I've had several supposedly non-comedogenic products break me out very badly in the past, one of which I did a review on; the Freeman face mask with sea salt. Very bad product. |
Date: 9/5/2015 5:50:00 PM From Authorid: 64365 I love your product reviews. Before I buy a new product I look for the reviews on it, but you never can tell which are real and which are just planted to push the product. Experience speaks volumes, so thank you for what you do for us. HUGS |
Date: 9/5/2015 6:18:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 66755 I know what you mean, Nani. It's so frustrating when you want to try a new product, but there aren't any reviews so you're uncertain whether you should just go for it or not! That's part of why I try to review all the products that I use, especially for products that USMers likely haven't come across, like the MeNow lip products I did a while back. |
Date: 9/7/2015 11:13:00 PM From Authorid: 62220 great review! love your posts. Anyway, I too have stubborn blackheads and the only thing i found that really works for me is very expensive GlamGlow mask in the white jar from Sephora combined with the Biore pore strips. You wash your face with the GlamGlow according to instructions, then apply the pore strip according to THOSE instructions, and when you peel it off, presto! A forest of blackheads (which reminds me, I should do it again soon). Unfortunately, my blackheads ALWAYS come back. So it's a temp fix at best anyway. But I do like the results. I highly recommend the GlamGlow products but like I said, they are pricey! |
Date: 9/8/2015 1:33:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 66755 Thanks for that, StarlitBunni! I'll have to try that out. I also heard that a simple way to remove blackheads is to steam your face for 10-15 minutes and then exfoliate immediately afterwards. I'm skeptical of that, but curious enough to try for myself and see if it really works. |
