Date: 8/19/2015 2:51:00 AM From Authorid: 42945 Well I guess that you have to register as a business owner and will it be anywhere near where you are working now? Over here we have very strict hygiene rules and woah behold the owners if when the inspectors are around and find out things like you just mentioned...sounds like the owner and the husband need a bit of a wake up call before a disease is diagnosed on a client as to coming from the salon...I wish you well in your venture Adora and hope it's a wonderful success for you and by the sounds of all that you are telling us here it will be... |
Date: 8/19/2015 5:12:00 AM From Authorid: 53128 Wishing you all the best, Adora! This is thrilling news! I only hope it doesn't take a client catching something for your previous workplace to get caught by the inspectors. |
Date: 8/19/2015 7:47:00 AM From Authorid: 10754 DO IT. Doing something the right way is an awesome calling, regardless of what field or profession we choose. |
Date: 8/19/2015 8:10:00 AM From Authorid: 22721 You need to call the department of health to report the filth. |

I am so thrilled and excited for you !!! You see the need and are filling it, and I'm sure you will get a lot of very happy customers. My daughter introduced me to a nail salon that was fantastic. They formulated their own acrylic nail powders and were very professional about how they handled clients. Their shop was always very pristine. Well a new owner bought the place, and it has gone on a slide downhill ever since. It is common to see things on the floor that should have been swept up immediately. The autoclave always seems to have the same things in it .. which to me means it isn't being used except for a decoration. Makes me wonder what other corners they are cutting to make a profit. Stick to your guns when you open your salon. I know cleanliness takes more effort and time, but your customers will see it and know that their health is being cared for. If I lived close to you, I would be giving out your business cards and trying to get people to know about you. Make sure to put some great info on your business cards about your cleanliness policy. |

No Zema it won't. I don't want to be THAT person. My salon will be not quite 20 miles away. I don't want to be in direct competition with the salon I am currently at. I think it would be rather hateful to open up another nail salon in the same small town. Thank you Soul Light, hopefully nobody will catch anything from the salon that I am currently at. I feel the same way Jay, if you're going to do something do it right, or don't do it at all! The state board has been called on them numerous times Desert Lotus, but the last inspection was passed with an A, and I don't know how. State board will be there again soon. Actually Hekler I had considered Smokn Hot Nails, but that was before I came up with the name Above the Standard after a conversation with my brother. I'm quite excited too Ginger, as well as a whole lot of other emotions such as happy, scared, and nervous. |
Date: 8/21/2015 12:40:00 PM From Authorid: 21435 Hey there, Adora! My ears are yours. Anyway, hope that you and Joe are well. I like the name you've decided on for your shop. Values and "drive," will carry you far, grasshopper. Best wishes to you and tell Smokn Joe that I caught a twenty seven pound flounder in the marshes south of town. (Well, that's a lie, but I'd so love to hear what he says when you tell him.) Write on and Right on! |
