I'm very excited to bring you this review today! I mentioned before I was going to review another product from the MeNow line. Well, this actually isn't the product I meant. I was referring to another. When I purchased this product, the seller didn't specify that this was a MeNow product and the pictures didn't make it obvious, either. It wasn't until I actually received it and saw the packaging that I learned this was a MeNow product, which made me very eager to try this! If I want to get technical, it's not a MeNow product, but a MeNow Pro product, which I guess is an improved version of the regular MeNow line (which is already perfect, might I say~). I also wasn't aware of its size! From the pictures, I was under the impression this was a thin lip pencil, but it's the thick kind.
The product up for review today is the MeNow Pro Powdery Matte Kiss Proof Soft Lipstick, color #11, which the packaging oddly describes as a creamy liquid lipstick even though this is clearly a pencil.
I have to admit, this product isn't creamy at all. It's very dry, which made it a little hard to apply, but I managed. I did the usual arm swatch just to see what it looked like on my skin and after I'd forgotten the swatch was there, I tried to rub it off and I couldn't! I learned that even though the product feels dry, it doesn't actually dry to your skin at first, giving you some time to fix any boo boos you may make when you apply it. After it's dried, it will not budge. It will fade if you rub it long and aggressively enough, but it won't smear and certainly won't transfer to other surfaces your lips touch.
It's a little dry on the lips, I won't lie, despite its claim of hydrating the lips. Moisturize prior to application and you should be golden.
Like the liquid lipsticks I reviewed before, this product is dirt cheap, selling in the range of 99 cents to $1.50 per pencil. I only bought one just to see if I would like it and after the 'trial' period, I purchased several more! So do I recommend this product? Yes!
Below is the lip swatch, along with me holding the product just so I wouldn't have to post two separate pictures of the swatch and the product. Sorry for the poor quality!
