I am in need of some prayers from my friends here at USM. 2 special people have been hurt in 2 seperate accidents this past weekend and they are both in bad shape. One young man, who is one of my sons best friends was in a car accident and he is in the trauma unit in Bangor. He had 2 broken legs, which they have operated on but he is in an induced coma for there is swelling on the brain. His family has been with him 24/7 for the last 2 days and even though he is going to pull through, he still has a long road ahead of him for full recovery.
The other young man, is the son of a dear friend of mine and he was in an ATV accident 2 days ago. He is in worse shape for he has some broken vertabraes in both his neck and his spine. He went into surgery today, but haven't heard any news yet. Doctor is saying that he may never walk again.
Like I said, both of these boys have long roads ahead of them for recovery and from here on out their lives will be different. I am asking for lots of prayers for these boys for I know that the power of prayer is a strong healing device. God is always listening and really need him to answer as well. Thank you all.
There is an update on both of these young men. The one who was in the car accident has had surgery on his legs and surgery went well. They have brought him out of his coma for the swelling on the brain has gone down and they have removed the breathing tube. He is talking a little, not always making sense though and he recognizes his parents but that is it so far. He has started to eat a little as well and in a couple days they are going to get him up for a little walking if possible. So, please keep prayers going for it is definitely working.
As for the second young man, there has been some improvement but not a whole lot. I just found out that along with the broken vertabraes, all his ribs on right side were broken and a few on the left. He also had a punctured lung. They performed surgery on his back and found that his spinal cord was not severed but crushed. There was no pulse though in the spine so they are still saying that the chances of him walking again are slim to none.
Both of these boys have a very long road ahead of them for recovery and they need all the prayers and help that they can get. The families of these boys are in need of prayers and help as well so if anyone would like to help in any way, please contact me, Clarissa in a private message.
Thank you all so very much for all the prayers and comments you have provided. Once again, USM have showed just how friendly and compassionate they are. Your all the best. Hugs.
