It's that time again, USMers! Product review!

Today's product is Wet n Wild's Color Icon glitter singles, which are glitter 'eyeshadows' in a single-color palette. I say 'eyeshadows' because they look like super glittery eyeshadows, but when you touch them, you'll find they're actually made of clear gel infused with glitter so when you apply them to your lids, it's just glitter.

A lot of people complain about this product because A) they aren't sure how to use it and B) it creases when the packaging says it's not supposed to. I'll admit I've had creasing, bad creasing, but it's random. Sometimes it'll crease, sometimes not. One day I was wearing this and one eye creased before I was even done applying my makeup while the other was fine throughout the day! It's a science; applying the right amount so it doesn't crease. I haven't yet mastered this science, but I have noticed that less is more in this case.

But honestly, this is a great product when you know how to utilize it properly. Aside from the amazing glitter payoff, this gel eyeshadow also makes a great base for your other eyeshadows! The glitter doesn't get covered up, so it adds a nice little sparkle to your eye makeup while the gel makes the colors more vibrant. I own this product in the shades Binge, a purple glitter, and Bleached, a lovely opalescent white. I like to use Binge underneath purple and black shadows and I use Bleached under other colors, especially greens.

If this product wasn't so inexpensive (99 cents per single!), I don't think I would recommend it due to the creasing problem, but since it is very cheap and the creasing doesn't happen 100% of the time, I say go for it! I absolutely love the glittery pop it gives my eye makeup while intensifying the pigmentation of the eyeshadow over it. :)

I should also mention that for 99 cents, you get a lot of product. Each one has about .05 ounces of product in it. If I were to use one of these every single day, it would probably take me a good couple of months to reach the bottom of the pan.

For the creasing of eye shadows that you mentioned, I have tried many things including primers. Many of those things didn't work very well. I have however found a couple of steps that help me with helping my eye shadow and liner stay on better and reduce creasing.

I always use an astringent to clean the natural oils from the eye lid and below the eye. I let that dry well while combing my hair or brushing teeth. Then I apply the eye make-up. On really hot or humid days, I start the same way, but then apply face powder before applying eye shadow. Both of these techniques seem to work really well for my skin. I am the common t-zone combination skin type.
