New Song
World started turning like never before
I went out looking for a cure
Number of steps getting more and more
After a while I wasn’t so sure
Here came the morning in a glorious sky
I kept walking towards the west
After a while I couldn’t remember why
God above whispered this is a test
There was a new season coming on
I could not remember where I left
Every step I took I sang a new song
Every day that passed I felt blessed
There were lilies in the fields and birds in the air
What really did matter came plain to see
I had a song to sing and a day to care
The Good Lord was looking after me
I danced in the rain under the moon
Drank cold mountain water from a stream
Ate my soup from a wooden spoon
Bathed in a river to get clean
Sometimes the wind was at my back
I felt like I was pushed along
Step by step and I lost track
I just kept singing my new song
Keep looking ahead not looking behind
Days and night measured by the moon
All my troubles leaving heart and mind
My new song has a healing tune
World started turning like never before
It’s been sometime and now I’m sure
Without looking back I step more and more
