We are not always given to want to give a care,
Walking past another just like they were never there,
Chasing all our dreams and hoping they come true,
Law of the averages says luck will smile on you.
We become independent from the day they cut the cord,
And our gratifications are based on self-reward,
Our hearts are neatly hidden so it does not get away,
Delusions of this world upon our minds will play.

I know you got this and everything’s all right,
We all have the troubles and learn how to fight,
Hide ourselves in the glory that comes in morning might.
Nothing to fear within the mercy of your light,

Our lives are delicate and narrow begging to be free,
We are strangers to ourselves whispering a silent plea,
A familiar recognition turns our eyes into the skies,
It stirs within our souls a hope within our lies,
The one true fatal error is thinking this is my home,
Built in that framework with a fear of the unknown,
I hear the distant thunder and feel the rain that falls,
My heart recognizes the sweetness of your loving calls,
