I had just recently moved into my new home in the suburbs. My place was purposely located at the edge of civilization, much to my delight. I had never been a city girl, and most likely never will be. This drives my older sister crazy, her always pleading for me to move into the city and be near her. As much as I love my sister, I told her, I have to start thinking about what I want, rather than what anyone else wants. She backed off long enough for me to be able to move into my home and get settled.
I felt pefectly safe in my new home, having everything unpacked and where they should be. I felt good about this house, and for once, I would be on my own, far, far away from the city and my sister. This particular house was reletivly new, built only a few years ago. I had gotton this home for only 60,000 becuase it was on the market for the years since it was built. I had already put down this years payment, and all I had to worry about were the utilitie bills. I had only wish I known that the utilities really weren't the only things I had to worry about.
2:30 a.m.
I had been dreaming peacefully when I woke up. There was no nouise besides the wind howling outside, and I was used to that. No, it wasn't noise. It felt more like a presense, and a very intense one at that. As I lay in bed, fully awake and alert to mysurroundings, My eyes got a glimpse of dark, black hair from under my closed door sweeping out , as if someone had trying to look under it. The gap under my door was about two and a half inches, something I had previously planned on fixing the next day. The black hair was replaced by small, pale feet turning away from the door and started walking down the hall. Then I did the most stupidest thing I have ever done.
"Hello? Who are you?" I called.
The pair of feet stopped a few feet from the door, and walked back to it. They backed up a little bit, and I wondered if it was gone until I saw a pair of knees drop to the floor. Then hands, then shoulders. The long, black hair slowly, horrifyingly came to the ground, until I saw a little girls face. The eyes were all black, her lips smiling to reveal razor sharp teeth. All the while I sat there, frozen by fear.
The girl (I assumed she was a girl) was smiling, so terribly creepy that if I was not so terrified I would've screamed. But I just sat there, like an idiot, watching as she reached under the door with a long, skinny arm that twisted up towards the doornob. She can't get in, I thought. The door is locked, and she can't even reach it. Man, was I ever wrong.
Her eyes trained on mine, making sure I stayed there (not like I could move) jerked her arm a little. I was horrified as she twisted and turned and STRETCHED her arm until she was able to reach the door knob, unlocking it, and then opening the door, slowly, methodicaly, as if she knew I was gonna be scared. The door was all the way open now, her body still on the ground, making her way toward me on her stomach. My vision became blurry, and the last thing I saw was her black eyes staring at me, only a few feet away.....
