I haven't watched this yet, but I will go to the link. I have always wondered about corruption in voting system. Where there is power and payoffs involved I think the most upstanding person can be tempted. Many years ago there was a very close race here, and thousands of ballots were found dumped behind filing cabinets. I didn't even hear if they found the culprit, but the results of those ballots did bring the election very close to being turned the other way. I'm sure the culprit knew that very well and decided they needed to try and sway the election their way. I wonder if there is really a way to keep 'honest' elections honest. |

It this world, it isn't as important what actually happens as opposed to what you wished and contributed to cause to happen. Reality is where you discover yourself. -Radman |

Was that the 2004 Senatorial race in Washington, Ginger? There was a lot of shady things going on in that contest, and the Elections Supervisor kept finding more and more votes out of no where. I believe he was let-go, fired, and actually ended up getting promoted to a larger jurisdiction in LA, California. |

That sounds about right on the year, and yes it was here in Washington State. I think the person who did that should have been prosecuted heavily if he wasn't already. What he did was criminal and took away the rights that we are granted by being citizens of this great country. Of the ballots they did find, I wonder how many weren't found? Also, almost all of our elections for politicians also have referendums and measures included on the ballots. How many of those may have been swayed in a different direction than what the majority of the public voted for. I have a real problem with anyone taking away MY rights. |

I share your same sentiments, Ginger! I don't like the "don't vote" apathy either, but want the process to be as transparent as possible to hold our elected members accountable. They work for the citizens, NOT corporations and their special interest groups that control this nations and likely the election system! |
