She stood there in the hallway... still and quiet as a mouse...thinking she saw a shadow...and that someone's in the house... barely able to move... she takes a step ahead... only to stop mid way... noises coming from her bed... peering slowly into her room... she's very relieved at that... to see the noise was coming... from non other than her cat... Tricksy curled up comfy... on her favorite fluffy pillow... thru the window now she sees... someone lurks behind the willow... The head ducked away very fast... but she still knows it was there... hoping its just one of her friends... with a late night Halloween scare... She goes out on the walkway... creeping slowly toward the tree... every step she gets closer... to the house she wants to flee... at the tree she peeks around... never to see the axe... the madman who was wielding it... was swinging much too fast... her eyes are startled open... she hears purring from her friend... relieved that it was all a dream... no real life dreadful end... soon they both were drifting off... to dream contently sleeping... neither one awake to see... eyes at the window creeping...
