First ever ghost hunt! Any advice, stories from your experience? ~David/Fearfactor

Attending my first ever ghost hunt Saturday evening! Going to be a lot of nervous excitement in the air! I've always been fascinated with paranormal ever since encountering my own small episode of the bedroom blinds opening and closing in front of me for now expletive reason! Even if there are no manifestations this night, one will be able to use their imagination and be a kid again; we often lose that perspective as adults. I have a feeling the drive to and fro is going to be creepy enough with the farm being out in the boonies (not to mention existing Florida drivers). Devices are welcome at the event, but mainly only have a phone, camera, and digital voice recorder. Is the phone camera better than regular digital camera as far as potentially capturing things? What types of questions are good to ask to summon spirits during an EVP session? What have some of your experiences been like on your ghost hunts? Do I need to worry about these things trying to follow me home?!

Date: 10/24/2014 1:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    That could be a lot of fun I think. I've never really officially been on a ghost hunt. We took the ghost radar into the cemetery one time and it began saying names which it had never done before, we rounded a corner and faced a big headstone that read Price and the ghost radar said Pride, which was close enough to freak us out. LOL I personally would be a little worried about something following me home. I know some say prayers of protection before and after leaving.

None of them died there, why congregate there unless it's a safe haven for them...to meet other deceased spirits...

It's probably a good idea to thank them and tell them good-by before leaving the area. I hope you have a great time and much good luck. I agree with you about ghosts hanging out at cemeteries....why indeed.
Date: 10/24/2014 5:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 66062    Don't just stick to one camera. Use any kind you have. Digital, disposable, phone.
Same with a recorder.
questions you could ask: Is anyone here with us? (wait for a little bit, try to NOT move because moving interferes with the recording. If you HAVE to move, state that you are moving and when you stop moving, state you've stopped) ask if there is anything they would like to say? you can always ask "knock on something to let us know you are here"

Never EVER say "use our energy" it can attach to you that way. you can say it can use your batteries... But I'd only say that if you have backups.

Go with your gut. If you feel something, go with it. If you feel drawn to something, take a photo of it. if it feels bad, get away from it.

as for it following you home, state clearly that anything there is NOT allowed to follow any of you home in the name of Jesus.

I would say a prayer before going into it though because you never know what you might run into.

Date: 10/26/2014 1:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 37843    I've noticed that digital cameras usually work better than phone cameras. If you use a camera/recorder of any kind make it clear that the spirits are NOT welcome to follow you anywhere. It is possible for them to attach themselves to you, so be careful. Have fun.
