I have been doing clean eating (organize meat, farmers market food, fruits, veggies, ect) and have noticed a big difference in how I feel. I was at one point up to 210 lbs but now down to 165. When you look at the ingredients in food my number 1 rule is if I have to say, "ummm what is __________?" then I don't buy it/eat it |

When you ruin a foods integrity like Monsanto has it no longer has the same nutritional value . This causes the body to overeat . When the food is corrupt and has low nutritional value it causes the body to overeat in an effort to nourish itself . Thus you get overweight . |

I would advise you not to give up. My husband got a fitbit and began walking. He cut out all fast food, a hard thing to do since he travels so much. But he began packing his lunch and cooking his own meals at night in his little kitchen at the extended stay hotel. He's lost 45 pounds since June and looks great and feels even better. The fitbit is actually a lot of fun. I have one as well and we compete with each other and family members. There are times when I'm ready for bed, but will take a quick lap around the block to beat someone on my friends list. I'm up to 16000 steps a day and my husband walks up to 20,000 steps a day. Not bad for a couple of former couch potatoes. |

Date: 10/6/2014 5:16:00 PM From Authorid: 40979 Unless someone has some sort of disease or condition that makes it hard to lose weight, then no one can be blamed except for that particular person. I am over weight and I blame no one but myself. I pick and choose what I eat, just like everyone else does. |
Date: 10/6/2014 5:20:00 PM From Authorid: 66331 Sadly you can't blame the government, they dont make you buy the bad food. I feel you though lol Being poor doesn't help the matter. Its not cheap to eat healthy. And those that say otherwise must not know the price of hot dogs and ramen noodles compared to a salad. I'm having issues losing weight too, I'm not over weight yet but I'm right on that border, I wish fruits and veggies were cheaper. |
Date: 10/7/2014 1:13:00 PM From Authorid: 24673 I blame color TV, the food looks too good! I also blame stretch pants because that's where it all started with me. It's so easy to play the blame game but in the end we must blame ourselves. I choose to eat the junkfood and when I do eat "right" I eat too much of it. I have no words of wisdom because I can't control my own behavior, but I truly do believe moving as in walking, stretching, dancing, etc., etc. is the best and cutting back on the amount of food. I wish you the best of luck and don't give up. |
Date: 10/7/2014 2:49:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Garbage, so true about the stretch pants. I've tried to tell my daughter that. With jeans you know when you've gained a few pounds. In stretch pants they stretch with you! LOL |
Date: 10/7/2014 2:50:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Has anyone here tried weight watchers? That really did the trick for me. Calorie counting was really very slow going, for some reason weight watchers worked for me. |
Date: 10/7/2014 4:40:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 Yes Kelly, I did weight watchers and it worked beautifully..though I've finished with going to the meetings etc, I still count up the points in my mind when I'm cooking or eating...I remember all the high points foods LOL....I've managed to keep the weight off for quite some years now..I recommend it to anyone, you don't go hungry you just eat the right way... |
Date: 10/8/2014 9:18:00 AM From Authorid: 15228 Zema, I'm the same. I no longer chart my food like I did obsessively, but I do loosely keep track in my head. It's really helped me cut out the snacking. |
Date: 11/17/2014 6:09:00 PM From Authorid: 55533 I blame the government too. As much as people refuse to believe this, but they really do take advantage of stupidity/ignorance to cash from it, which is just sad. |
Date: 3/13/2016 4:19:00 AM From Authorid: 67445 good luck |

Date: 8/7/2017 1:09:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 13283 I have been getting a clean bill of health from my doctor year in and year out . I am passing my physicals with flying colors ! I got everything checked from A to Z . The only thing he noticed was that my triglycerides were slightly elevated . My sugars were a tad up , but that's only because I am so sweet . I wish you all health and happiness . I am a walking advertisement for organic foods and vegetarianism . #gonnalivetobea100 |
