Raising Minimum Wage... -RAMSES-

Ginger made a post about taxes, it made me think of the state wanting to raise minimum wage to $15 per hour.

When minimum wage is increased, it increases the burden to the company. The companies need to make a profit or they are not in business anymore.

Expansion costs money, as does making products, start up costs, building maintenance, none of which the employee actually pays for.

When minimum wage is increased, two things will happen it means fewer employees will be hired and costs to the consumers (those that buy things from from the company) will go up.

This increases inflation and lowers the value of the dollar.

Those that want to make $15 dollars and hour at Burger King, Burger King was never meant to be a life time employment. It was intended to be for high school kids, college students needed some extra cash not life time employment unless your a manager (and I don't think they earn that much) or an owner.

Six years ago gas was $1.85 now its nearly $4.00

America has gone above and beyond living outside it's means. Why the stock market hasn't crashed yet has me baffled.

If the government could spend within it'smeans costs would go down, taxes would be less and income for everyone would increase.

There's my gripe for the day.

Date: 9/8/2014 11:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    They just raised the minimum wage in my state, and on the surface it sounds wonderful. However, many of the businesses are just passing along their burden to the consumers. I'm not sure that is how things are suppose to work. What ever happened to sharing the burden and the profits
Date: 9/9/2014 12:12:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63575    yeah, you and I live in the same state - I have no idea what the minimum wage is now.
Date: 9/9/2014 9:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 63121    I eat fast food maybe once a year, lol. I see what you're saying, though. I'm sure nobody would pay $20 for a burger... unless it was a pretty epic burger.
Date: 9/9/2014 9:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 26227    If they ever raise the min wage to $15 I'll quite my job and go work at Burger King. Why should I work hard for what I get? Min wage needs to stay where it is, if you need more money get ANOTHER job!!
Date: 9/9/2014 8:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 40979    Some people cannot just go out and get another job. Some people are stuck at entry level jobs for a number of different reasons. While I do believe min wage should go up, I think $15 dollars an hour is just ridiculous. Min wage in Ohio is $7.95...I think it would be fine between $8.50 and $9.00. I am a manager and have been at my job for almost 8 years and I don't even make $9.00 an hour. These people want $15 an hour for slapping together a burger?? I would be happy with $9.25 at my job.
Date: 9/10/2014 11:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    I think to raise the federal minimum wage from where it currently is, $7.25 per hour, to $15 per hour is far fetched and most likely nothing more than political propaganda from politician to gain voters support. However, the $7.25 per hour minimum wage is really absurd by anyone's standards. It needs to be brought up to balance the current cost of living. That is just common sense.
Date: 10/31/2015 12:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 28363    I think it should be $12 per hour... a little compromise
