Update on Fire Departments in Tower #2 9/11

Yea, this may have happened a long time ago but I like to take the time every now and again to remember. Not to pray just for those that ran into the burning buildings or the flight crews and passnegers on the airlines but for all of them. I do pray for them and the loved ones they left behind.

I've been doing alot of surfing on the net about 9/11. I know people have their own beliefs as to WHAT hit the towers or WHAT made them collapse, I don't want to get into that.

This is just a list of Fire Departments that were in World Trade Center Tower Number 2, just moments before the tower came down. The list is from "102 Minutes that Changed America." I decided to put the list in some kind of order.

Battalion, 10, 11 and 12

Division: 3

Engine: 22, 23, 40, 41, 44, 47, 53, 58, 74, 76, 91, 209, 211, 212, 214, 216, 217, 220, 221, 229, 230, 235, 238, 279

High Rise: 1

Ladder: 2, 4, 7, 11, 12, 13, 16, 21, 22, 24, 25, 35 and 118.

I was shocked just to see the number of departments in one building and just thought of sharing it. A friend of mine arrived at work late that day (very unusual for him), he could see flames where his office used to be. He lost a great many of his co-workers and friends that day.

About six years prior to the tragic events on that day I went to his office. I still remember the multiple elevator ride and I remember it seemed like a large mall in some parts and just different businesses on the levels. It reminded me of a city just going strait up.

UPDATE: Battalian 7 is not listed nor is Ladder 15. There may be others, from aticles I have been reading this is all I have.

Both Towers 1 and 2 had their own zip codes.

For me it's not how they died that is important, it's how they lived.

Thanks for posting this. And yes, when we think of the 9/11 tragedy, we should remember the heroes of that day also. And really not just 9/11, but our neighborhood firefighters and police too.

Date: 8/30/2014 1:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    I'm sure that there will never be a September 11th, that we don't stop and think of what happened that day. I'm sure it has stood as a solemn reminder of how precious life is, and how much we never know what tomorrow will bring for any of us.
