Body Fantasies Vampire Midnight .:PatchouliMoonsong:.

I've been on a fragrance binge lately and this is the newest addition to my growing collection: the Body Fantasies Vampire Midnight perfume in Eau de Parfum (bottle) and Eau de Toilette (vial). Real quick for those who may not be aware, the difference between an Eau de Parfum and Toilette is that the Toilette's fragrance is weaker and it's generally meant for touch-ups to your fragrances, hence they are packaged in bottles that are convenient to carry around with you.

First I must say that I love the packaging. It's beautiful and mysterious, just like a vampire, which is why I'm very sad I didn't receive my set in the original packaging. And the bottle is very interesting, too, even as simple as it is.

I sprayed the Parfum on my wrist and gave a whiff. It smells like... sugared berries and flowers. That's really the only way I can describe it. The scents are blended so well together, you can't pick out the specific notes in there, but it's certainly a pleasing scent; nothing like typical drugstore fragrances. It actually reminds me vaguely of Noir Tease, but with more floral notes.

And then...I tried the Toilette. Let's just say the term "toilet" would also be appropriate to describe the scent. I don't know if I got a bad Toilette or what, but I sprayed it and I swear to you it smells like an animal went tinkle on my arm. You know how hunters use the urine of a female deer in heat to attract the males? I guarantee you that if I sprayed this stuff and stepped out in the woods, I would attract every buck in a 50-mile radius. It smells so completely different from the Parfum and I keep going back to make sure I'm smelling it right and honestly, the smell is making me ill. As time wears on, it begins to smell less like animal urine and more like strong alcohol with faint hints of flowers and berries. I don't know if you can buy them separately, but if you can, I would definitely recommend doing so because the pungent smell of the Toilette is NOT worth it.

Since this is a drugstore product, it's not very expensive. I myself haven't seen it in stores, but online, I've seen it priced around $15-$20. I was lucky enough to get mine for free, but if I was to go out and purchase it myself, I probably would. Even though I hate the Toilette, I would buy the set simply so I could have the pretty packaging it comes in, too~ I would just have to sell the icky Toilette.

If you get the opportunity to try this, I say go for it. It's a really nice scent; definitely evokes the imagery of vampires.

I'm in the process of trying to get my hands on the original Vampire scent, so when I do get it, I'll be sure to post a review of that, too. :)

Date: 7/2/2014 4:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    I look forward to your reviews when you can get the original Vampire scent...I love perfumes and use them daily...my latest one is Mariah Carey's "Purple Butterfly" and Elizabeth Taylor's "Passion"...I thought they were both a bit heavy but I have had people asking me what perfume is it that I have on it is so nice...

Date: 7/2/2014 5:01:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 66755    Zema - I might have to try those! I've heard good things about them.

Carolina - I've heard mixed reviews about it. Some say it's bad and some say it has a nice scent of chocolate and cherries. I guess it's a real hot or miss kind of scent. More reviews have been positive than negative, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
