Hiya All,
I'm sorry it's been awhile since I have updated. With three kids now, it's really hard to keep up with more than FB, most the time and even then; not on there entirely too often. <3
Since I posted last; mom has had a few setbacks. While still in the local hospital recovering, the ventilator got clogged or shifted, and it caused mom's right lung to collapse. She had to have a procedure where they inserted a tube into her side. The next day, though, they realized there was a small hole or infection in the bronchial area- so they had her moved to one of the larger hospitals in our state- almost 2 hours away. She was sent by ambulance down there and they decided not to do a surgery to repair the small hole, (at least not yet), but have been taking good care of her. They did get her off of the ventilator there. They have a doctor there that takes care of any and all issues that may arise.
It's hard to sum up the last almost two weeks. She's had a couple steps forward and a few baby steps back. Especially mindwise. She wasn't sleeping much and I suppose all the other stuff going on in combo to that-- caused her to hallucinate and sort of talk out of her head a little bit.
Like, when I walked in to see her, she introduced me to her nurse and then said "And here is her baby daughter, Serena! Wait, where'd the baby go?" I had to tell her that she was at home with Nakoma and that she was fine and they didn't allow babies in the ICU. <3 The latest update that I have was from today (well, now yesterday). They had to go in yesterday morning and put a smaller tube into her lung because it tried to collapse again. They are sure it may heal up, it's just going to take time.
She has been eating food! That is one major plus. And they have had her up and walking a bit. The best news from today (yesterday), though, was that the mind fog had been lifted. She was able to think and speak mostly coherent and even remembered she hadn't paid the cable bill and reminded dad and my sis-in-law about it. :)
She still has a ways to go, but all those thoughts and prayers and well wishes are being heard and are SO appreciated by all of us. Please continue to keep her in thought and prayer or well wishes as she travels this path. <3
My family and I all very much, beyond words even, thank you SO SO much. <3 <3 <3 I will try to update better, too-- as I said FB is what I'm on the most simply updating or sharing updates with family--- it's the easiest way to let them all know--- but--- I will try to get on here more to let you all know what's going on as well <3 <3 <3
