I do not believe it's some make-believe disorder. I think it's very real and that multiple things can cause it. Whether it be vaccines, some sort of mutated gene...maybe even an illness can cause it. I know a couple of people with autistic children, and it's heartbreaking. I don't see how someone can fake the disorder.  |

I normally roll my eyes when people say autism is caused by vaccines. I was vaccinated and i'm not autistic. my cousin is autistic and he never got vaccinated.  |

I'm with you, sweetxmisery. I was vaccinated and nothing happened to me. I guess without a secure diagnosis of how autism starts, a lot of people may think it's a made up disorder since new "causes" are always coming out - and some may be ridiculous. Now whether or not ADHD or ADD exists is a different story (in my opinion).  |

Oh it's real...I believe we are all on the spectrum...just some of us are further up than most. Without Autism and Asperger's we wouldn't have so many wonderful things in our world...So many are inventors, mathematicians, scientists, doctors....  |

Aussie your right! The spectrum is so huge that everyone shows a trait or two. It's the amounts of traits and the amount of inability to deal with those traits that shows ASD.  |
