The journey

Hey all

It's amazing where we come in our lives, isn't it? First off, you are all awesome. I love this site and I love you all. Yesterday I reread an 11 year old post of mine where I was fuming and spewing child like tantrums, and I reflected on how silly I was. At that point i had yet to turn 23, and now I am verging on 34...in April...I look back and I see the frustration. I can feel who that person was...somebody who felt that his life was not providing opportunities and who was a failure...Somebody said in that post, in the comments section, that I should go back and reread the post in four or five years. I replied "why should I re-read it in 4 or 5 years?" Well it is 11 years later and I see the point. I see it from the perspective of where I am, and the progress I have made and I see the point. I have tasted the cultivation of sensitive wisdom that can hopefully be the offshoot of frustrated angst. I see the mystical in the everyday. I do my best to not push people away and in my expressions I always do my best to be mindful of the magic.

So here we all are. We have these pieces of writing that are literally time and date stamped to the second, and these writings can help us to engage more and more with our whole selves. It is humbling as well as fascinating. I look back and can still identify with that person. I can identify with the frustration that a sense of perceived isolation and disinclusion in the "fun things" of life can present. In some ways in my essence he is still there and sometimes he does come out...if only to myself. If wwe can understand ourselves from the fuller perspective, it all adds to the journey. When we can embrace the lessons and insights in the moment, all that we desire comes true. In between that place and now it has been a journey, and the journey is good. This is it...this is said. There is no turning back because the journey is incremental and often we measure ourselves by what we are not in relation to other, but this is turning into cliche.

It's been a great experience. Thanks all

Date: 2/6/2014 3:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    Very good post. It is interesting to read all my old posts and realize how I've changed over the years. I am the same, yet I am different. Its like taking a step back and looking at myself with a clearer insight.
