This was an experience I initially wrote off as due to a lack of observation on my part. Yet in time it prove quite the opposite.
I live in a place called Vereeniging in South Africa where in the months of November and December (our Summer), a strange thing occurred over a few weeks.
I worked at a small business in town and my sister two or three blocks away. My colleague and I would knock off anything between 17H00 and 17H30. I would drive to my sister's work to collect her on our way home. Now at that time of day the sun would still be out. Our usual route down Devilliers ave turn right into Van Riebeeck Ave then home. Now I taken that route at round about the same time every Monday to Friday to know that it was an uninteresting road home.
As usual I'd get the traffic light red (I seldom got it green), here's where things get strange; I noticed a white Toyota Cressida stop behind me in the rear view mirror. As the light turns green, I turn right and do a mirror check and find NO Cressida next to me or behind. Lack ob servation is what I thought, thinking it may have gone straight over.
Bare in mind the we drive on the left and that the intersection had (on the left) one lane dedicated for left turns and going straight over. The lane I took was for rights only.
The day following this I had the very same experience all repeated in the same way. This time I really thought I must pay more attention to what's happening behind me and on the sides.
For the following week this happened every day and everytime I paid more attention to my observation. It was in the third week that I finally would see this same Cressida turn into the lane on my right in the RHS mirror, come into my blind spot and... Poof gone vanishes into thin air. Now my colleague sat at the back playing games on his phone and my sister in the front passanger seat.
After two or three weeks of this Cressida vanishing next to me in the blind spot, I'd had enough and ask my sister if she'd seen the car that kept vanishing next us, she replied she had and wondered if I had been aware of it. Since that day I no longer saw it.
My colleague was blissfully unaware of the vanishing Cressida all the time I had seen it. Oddly enough all this happened with other cars around us. This makes it even more strange
Thinking back, in the first week of March 2011, following this incident I had a stroke behind the wheel of the work's truck and T-boned another truck. Was the vanishing Cressida a warning or an omen, or just a once off occurance? I may never know, never the less I found rather annoying. How it changed my life:My parents, my sister and I are psychic so we are quite used to paranormal stuff. Sometimes I see ghosts as if it were the real thing. It has taught me to be more alert to my surroundings in general.
