Woah what? Dating clases in schools? Sign Me Up? Hold on a second......
I was thinking about this the other night and I think schools should include this as an extracurricular class.. Before anyone says no let me explain on how it should be taught.
1) Classes would offer those who are dating, or those who are shy to ask someone out.
2) Classes would teach teens how to respect their partners such as A) Boys would be taught how to go up to their dates house and walk the girl to the car B) Boys would be taught how to open the door of the car for their date to and from date place
3) Class activities would offer several scenarios such as: A) Going to the movies, going to restaurants, meeting the parents for the first time, going for drives etc....
4) Teens could also talk about their fears, how to ask someone out, how to handle arguments or issues that happen during teen romances, how to handle the stress of job finding, getting licenses, picking out colleges as well.
To me if teens learn at an early age how to treat the opposite sex with respect, and how to date properly, hopefully there would be a decline in teen girls getting pregnant, teen girls getting beat and hit, and maybe the hurtful break-ups because the teen years are hard enoug. And hopefully they take what they learned and practiced into their adulthood.
It should focus on Boundaries, Respect, Conversation, and Age Appropriate Dates.
To me High School needs to expand to teach more social skills along with the other classes.
