615 Niles Street Bakersfield

I lived at a house on 615 Niles St. in Old Town Kern part of Bakersfield. The house was well over a hundred years old and when I came to live there I was caring for 4 children whose father was dying from Leukemia. They had no mother. After the father passed the children would report seeing him in the dining room which is where he spent most of his time at the dining table in front of a picture window that looked out onto Niles. I promised this man on his deathbed that I would care for his children. I engaged in court battle to keep them to no avail. A relative won custody and removed them to another state. I continued to live in the house and subsequently married a man who had a daughter who was the same age as the dead mans daughter, When she would visit we would experience many unexplained incidents that were scary and on one occasion we had to send her home because it got so bad she had to sleep with us because we feared she would be hurt by objects flying through the house. My Brother-in-law who rented a room from us also stated he got the willies in the dining and kitchen area when he would leave for work at around 3-4am through the back of the house. I always felt a rush of fridgid air pass through me when I was in that same area of the house. I would see shadows in my periphiel view. I also think because of the age of the house that there were other spirits besides the dead mans whose children I cared for. I would like to research the history but I'm not sure how to. Any Thoughts?

Date: 11/2/2013 12:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 42945    I can't offer any advice dear but to say that I couldn't live in a house that had that going on in it, I'd be scared out of my wits..
Date: 11/4/2013 3:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 67074    I live in Bakersfield and i know the area, not the house, that your talking about. my thoughts on this, and i am no one to offer up an opinion, but it sounds to me that he hasnt crossed over. maybe he is worried about his kids. maybe he is angry that he cant be there. maybe he is angry because he cant find his kids. i know...a lot of maybes. you can talk outloud to him, telling him the kids are fine and that he needs to go home, to God. then you can help him go to the light... i wouldnt just do nothing. something is better then nothing. good luck and God bless.
Date: 11/4/2013 8:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 26598    you could go to the county adminsitration building and see if you can get a copy of the record of when it was built. then check with the census bureau to find out how many families had resided there. Then read the death certificates and read the news paper articles of the death at the libraries micro fiche reels. Good luck.

Pa., just over a mile from the battlefield. I have posted several stories about the
impossible and unexplained things that have happened here. I wish you luck.
