Seems like yesterday I was posting on waiting for our 5th year reunion. Instead of being outside at a bar like our first reunion, it's going to be in a hall. But I guess the first reunions are informal like that.
And I told my friends this on facebook on the page I made for us: I'm proud of each and everyone of you for chasing your dreams. I even wrote a song for them in my next book called "Ten Years and Counting". And dedicated my first book to them.
I see girls who I was friends with who skipped school, smoked, dropped out, and now they have their own kids, and their kids are in cheerleading, and are run the cheerleading. Say What? So proud of them they changed their ways, got great jobs, and raising their kids in a positive way.
Some others have left the country all together, Some moved away from our city, and yet with facebook we can stay all connected.
For me as it's well known on here from way back to my first posts in 2002 I was known in High School as a songwriter. My memory book is filled with good lucks from teachers and students saying "Good Luck In Nashville", "Good Luck with your songs", "can't wait to hear your songs on the radio".
I can say I reaped what I sowed with my first book coming out last year, and it being sold in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
Again I didn't write the book just for me, though therapeutic at times, my main reason to write and publish was for them.
I mean if God gives you a natural talent you use that talent.

I can't wait to see who shows up this Friday, it's going to be a good time, and a sad time. I believe we lost 7 students from our class already. One in Iraq from the war.
