First, I want to say it's great to be back on USM. I am very much looking forward to the Halloween season here and decided to start posting early for all my paranormal and Halloween lovers! Can't wait to read your comments.
I have heard these new stories about an entity called 'the slender man' and quite frankly didn't believe it. I thought this might be another urban legend but I have actually found folk tales around this entity which intrigued me. The slender man is actually from a German legend. While there are many different versions and this could in fact be an urban legend, there are some people who truly believe they have witnessed this entity.
One morning I woke up around 4:30am and couldn't fall back to sleep. Now, I have posted some stories before about the woods surrounding the house and in the backyard, and we believe there is some strange energy back there we just can't figure out. We have heard our door being opened in the middle of the night, window screens being lifted and shut, and things walking around on the back porch very late at night. We tried to find a logical explanation but we honestly couldn't. This lasted a few months and calmed down quite a bit during the summer; it seems the colder weather brings this on.
So, I woke up very early and was sitting up in bed just waiting for the sun to rise. I couldn't fall asleep and I was still tired so I just stayed in the blankets. I finally got up to use the bathroom and turned around to look back at where our bed is and seen 'something' walk across the floor. Now, this something was fast but I definitely seen enough to freeze right in my tracks. It walked from one corner of the room to the other and disappeared. It was about 3 feet tall, brownish colors, no hair, with long dangling arms and sharp features at the end of the arms. It moved its shoulders while it walked, almost cat-like. It almost looked 'impish' and I immediately thought about what had been going on outside the house. I didn't feel threatened or like it even noticed me, but it did scare me based on how it looked. I woke my boyfriend up and told him what I saw, he is a bit more skeptical than I am, and I welcome that because it's good to have an open unbias opinion on things but I definitely know what I saw.
So I started looking up images on what I saw and seen a version of the slender man described actually how I saw this 'creature'. I am not sure if I believe this lengend or not, but I definitely seen something. I haven't seen anything like this since- which I am most glad about!
Just a little story to share with all of you. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Or experienced the slender man? Thanks for reading!
