Well how will she find out that you reported her?? will the authorities give her your name? and answer to your question, you did the right thing my dear...she obviously is not giving her kitties the proper care that is needed..Don't feel guilty, I would have done the same thing..How could someone leave a dying animal locked in another room so she didn't have to see it?? |

She will definitely know it's me, since I'm the only one who knows about the dead kitten. I can't imagine that, hearing an animal scream for food and just watching it deteriorate and not doing anything. She said she didn't have money for a vet, but she could have just dropped the kitten off, right? |

You did the right thing. What kind of person watches these defenseless animals suffer when she can take them to a shelter? |

You did the right thing. We have six kitties, all six fat, healthy, sassy and loved. But not everyone is in a position to take care of so many pets. There comes a time one has to realize limitations. I can't believe anyone would put a kitten in a room and just wait for it to die. Hearing that just breaks my heart. It sounds like maybe your friend is an animal hoarder. Her intentions probably started out good but she quickly became overwhelmed. She may get a fine and her pets taken from her but she'll probably repeat the behavior. It's such a sad story. |

Some people should NOT have animals and I am sorry but your friend is one of them. To let a defenseless animal starve to death is just beyond torture in my opinion. You absolutely did the right thing and I applaud you for it!!!! I am so glad you went out of your comfort zone and did the right thing as I know it wasn't easy for you. I would have done the same thing. Thank you for defending a defenseless animal and trying to help it as much as you could. |

I would say yes you did the right thing. Two tiny babies died because they didn't receive the proper care they needed...I feel sorry for your friend as she probably thought she was helping the cats. |

Yes you did the right thing. You should've also call The Humane Society, or a shelter of some sort. So the same don't happen to the others. She's lucky it was you & not me, she took to this horrific sight. Who cares if she's in debt, obviously she shouldn't own any animals. This is exactly where the problem lies, people don't spay or neuter their pets. Which leads to a terrible chain reaction turn of events. Too many to take care of, & vet properly. |

But anyhoo......... Thank you for doing the right thing........... Please by all means "finish the job", & call a shelter. So this won't happen to the rest. |

...you did the right thing...people who can't care for pets properly and get them vet care when they need it have no business with pets. What she was doing was cruel and inhumane. Even if she was only trying to help, she wasn't doing all that could have been done if she had just gotten proper agents involved in the care of them...or given them to someone who could have cared for them properly. |

Don't worry about her knowing it was you...I would turn my own family members in if they were being cruel to animals...and I certainly wouldn't worry about them knowing....but my kids and my sis all treat their animals well....like gold...it's as it should be. |

What a terrible experience for you to have to go through, and I applaud your courage. What you did was a very difficult thing, but please know it was the right thing. Some people should not be caretakers. Not of people, or our 4 legs and winged ones. Even those that swim. The best thing for her would be able to have her babies go to a shelter and give her a chance to clean up and reclaim her life. I know that accidents do happen. My grandson came back from vacation with two (2) new kittens that both ended up female. We do not have much money, so I thought we could not afford to have them fixed. Then they both got pregnant at the same time and had kittens at the same time. I contacted a program here in Texas (Austin) that offers to 'fix' your animals for free. We took in the mamas and the babies when they were old enough. We were able to give some of the kittens away, but ended up with 3 of them. We now have 5 cats. LOL! But, we live in the country and they are trained to go to the door when they want to go out and do their business. Thank Goodness. Litter boxes for 5 cats are a problem. Anyway, I think what you did was marvelous and brave. You chose to do the Right thing, not the Easy thing. Love and Light |

Tina..... Thank you for doing the right thing. As I read your post my new 9week old kitten jumps on my bed and it makes me feel even more emotional about all the innocent animals out there that need us to speak up for them! ALWAYS REPORT ANIMAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT! ALWAYS REPORT ANIMAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT! |

Thank you, everyone. Last I heard all the cats were removed from her home. Unfortunately, they couldn't press charges because there were no pictures, etc of the deceased kittens. But I'm so happy those cats will be adopted out into new homes. |
