The Conjuring and the book House of Darkness House of Light

I started seeing previews for a movie called the Conjuring, in a way, it sort of reminded me of the Poltergeist movie (which by the way, they're remaking).  It said it was based on the true story of Roger and Carolyn Perron and their five daughters.   I looked it up and on several of the web forums talking about the movie some of the family members were commenting which is pretty cool.  Also saw some comments from the paranormal team originally asked to investigate.  They are the ones who brought in The Warrens (of Amityville fame and in which this haunting predates).  The Warrens ended up making the haunting worse which doesn't surprise me, I always thought they were a couple of frauds.

Unlike the Amityville house, this farm has been unable to keep any regular tenants.  The person who bought the farm from the Perrons to remodel left screaming in the middle of the night leaving his car, his clothes and his tools behind.  The house has pretty much remained vacant ever since.

In one of the movie trailers that I've seen they have the real family commenting and discussing some of their experiences.  I found the book written by the eldest daughter called House of Darkness House of Light and downloaded it yesterday on my Kindle (it's only 8.99).  It's well written and very absorbing.

Have you seen the previews and are you going to see the movie??

Date: 7/2/2013 12:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 10722    Since the same guy who directed Insidious will be directing this one, I'll definitely be seeing it (maybe even a midnight premiere if it's available) The Warrens are indeed frauds though, and nothing has ever convinced me otherwise.
Date: 7/2/2013 4:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    Kelly it does sound so interesting and it's one I'd like to read in a book and see in a movie...thanks for sharing this with us..
Date: 7/8/2013 10:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 61966    I just saw the movie trailer at the theater, it looks very good. I enjoy movies that are based on true events! I liked how the family describes things in the trailer. I think I'd want to read that book too.
Date: 7/8/2013 10:49:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15228    I'm about half way through the book and what's sad is I don't think the marriage survives this. It made me think of psyguys post about one spouse leaving when there is a hauting. despite the husband witnessing many things and even being beaten up by an entity, he chooses to ignore it. The wife is vey resentful since he travels so much for his work and she ages rapidly from whatever is happening and probably from the constant stress.
