first of all im confused by your post so first you head the noise at the hotel room then at your house? your post made it seem that your hotel room had a garage. Also i believe it was nothing just your dog was scared to be in a new place now the noise in the hotel could of been anything from people in the room next to you to the people in the room above you to noise out side. as for the noise at the house maybe it was a neighbor's dog or just the wind or the neighbor or a car |

Sorry, I just reread the post and it is confusing! We're at home currently where the second incident happened. |

It was most definitely the sound of an animal...it did sound a little like the dog snoring, but something more, like a chuffing, snorting sound, it was so bizarre. I'm not one for investigating so I would have been content with 'its the dog' explanation and ignored it. The family room is at the back of the house and it is on a slab. The couch is a sectional and the noise actually took place behind the part of the sectional we weren't using. |

Well if you have dealt with poltergeist activity with one of your kids in the past and this is happeneing in the way you describe it, then it sounds like your family has sensitives and it could be happening all over again with the next child in line. Did you post about the previous experiences? I am just da*n curious now! |

KT, I posted about it way back when...someone on this site gave me advice to get rid of it...forget who it was...it started out when we came home one night to lights on, the TV on, an alarm going off, progressed to knocking from inside the closet, horrible dreams, voices we could never pinpoint, stuff falling over and rolling around upstairs, things sitting down on our bed...the more scared we were, the more we talked about it, the more activity there was. Visitors to the house experienced this as well. We finally stopped talking about it, I made the girls return to their beds, we ignored it and at first it got worse, then over a two week period it gradually tapered off and stopped...the very last thing that happened was a bottle of cleaner slid across the counter...I walked over and felt the counter to see if it was wet, it was bone dry. I simply left the kitchen and watched some TV. Whatever it was fed on our attention. |

WOW! My wife and 2 daughters are the biggest scaredy cats I have ever seen and if that happened at my house, they all would have been at gramma's until 'our house was clear'. But if your family ARE sensitives you guys may have some kind of tolerance for this kind of thing and can handle it in a more rational (not sure that's a good word for it) fashion. It's interesting to read how folks handle being creeped out. |

Well, we simply didn't have a choice. We were living in military housing, My husband was doing a one year tour in Korea. When he was done with his tour, we were going to be transferred to Texas which is what I think caused such stress on my oldest daughter. I did ask if we moved if we would simply leave it behind, I was told no, that if it was a polterguest it would go with us so I knew I had to take care of it there and then. |

It has been quiet ever since that night, so hopefully whatever it was is gone, or there is a logical explanation for it that I just can't see. |

Creepy!!!! My mother, husband and I all heard a strange sounding growl in my mother's house one time. Not long after that I was sleeping in the same room (the growl came from) and something, I can only describe as the beast in "Beauty and the Beast)was behind me and kind of sniffing my bead, I could actually feel the prickly hairs on my shoulders and I heard it breathe. Nothing ever came of that experience, but I couldn't stay in that room anymore, I slept on the couch during my visits. I hope whatever it was you and your daughter heard is gone and you won't be bothered by any poltergeist activity. Ignoring them, as you mentioned, does seem to halp. |

Funny Garbage, as I was reading your reply I just heard a thumping noise from upstairs. I'm hitting the ignore button!..I don't blame you for not sleeping in the room again. I wonder what it possibly could have been? I'm going to do a little research to see what I find. |

That's weird! I don't know... did it start in the hotel? Maybe something followed you? (I'm sorry I hate to say that, believe me!) Why not say a few blessings around the house if you hear it again. I do know that shadow people can mimic animal shapes and noises. My boyfriend, sister, and I all seen a black 'cat' shape run down our staircase many times thinking it was our cat (who is white and grey) when it wasn't, but it had the same shape. Scary O_O |

It could be an ESP thing where you're hearing something, something along the lines of hearing the spirit of a dog that is in the house or passed away, or possibly even connected to you guys somehow (strange as that may sounds). Or it could be, more or less, some type of evil-spirit situation. |
