The Toilet and Toilet World Day is in November

I have never actually realized how fascinating the history of the Toilet is I am by no means posting this as a joke. You can read a lot on the history of the toilet. There are many many designs, and even in Japan there is an actual resturant called "The Toilet". People eat there food on toilets, and there food is served on dishes that resemble toilet. (I know they don't actually use those).

Except some of it may sound funny but its not intended. There is actually Toilet World Day and you can even visit their website to celebrate at http://www.worldtoiletday.org/ (It's a great organization that helps build toilets in 3rd world countries!)

Sir john Herrington invented the flushing toilet in 1596: Sir John Harington (1561–1612) published A New Discourse of a Stale Subject, Called the Metamorphosis of Ajax, describing a forerunner to the modern flush toilet installed at his house at Kelston.[7] The design had a flush valve to let water out of the tank, and a wash-down design to empty the bowl. (Quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flush_toilet)

There also is the famous toilet maker Thomas Crapper and Company in London. He is a very much real person. He did, however, do much to increase the popularity of the toilet. (Quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Crapper)

Also everyone pretty much knows that the Roman's had a lot of outdoor toilets as well. Along with the greeks. There also was the Chamber Pot, Colonial Pot, and the Chair pot ( That was one of those chairs that you sit in and use).

Except I am so glad now days that I have a toilet that flushes and works most of the time. I can't also believe just how actually artistic toilets can become as well. If you go look you can see so many variety's. (Yeah I may have to much spare time, but atleast I'm learning bout history).
