I was watching for the first time, the movie version of the book "The grapes of wrath " by John steinbeck.

I usually read the book before I take in the movie version.Sometimes a lot is left out.

A young Henry Fonda, just out of prison finds his family have lost their farm due to the depression.

It taps into the same collapsing, housing market of today and faulty loans.

The joad family heads to California and become migrant workers.Paid, slave workers.

This movie shows the desperation and how some people love to exploit the fear, with greed

and no compassion.Henry Fonda shines as the prodical son,and John carradine, steals the show as

As an ex preacher. The actress Jean or Joan darwell is steller too as the mother.

Check it out, its a classic. There's another movie, that is similar.

It stars Kathy Bates and Edward furlong( yes the terminator kid)The family picks up and

heads north to find a place to live. They spot a run down shack and make it their home.

Edward furlong is at his best(now hes a big mess)and this is one of Kathy Bates overlooked performances.

The movies called "A home of our own"... its a true story.
