My brother and I were bored late one night and we got the great idea to to make our own cover of a song. Both of us can't sing for our lives. We didn't have any instruments, so we banged on the table with cups, pots, and silverware. The neighbor even came over and told us to give up on singing, Hah. We were doing it for hours. Now when we here the song "Live and Die" by The Avett Brothers we cringe. |

A few years ago I decided to go on a zipwire across a huge river in Tasmania Australia.....My then 13year son was also going to give it a go. He went first and had a ball...There was a bit of a queue, with me being in front of two young children...young being about 7 or 8 from memory...I had paid my money and then realised you got to go up, up, up, up slowly over the river and whoosh back over in a flash 3 times. I was still keen, but starting to get a little apprehensive. I got strapped in, and the photo we've got of that doesn't show any fear in my face at all...Oh my goodness.....They started to haul me up over the river, I was getting higher and higher. I was terrified. And for some strange, unexplainable reason I started singing,...wait for it....."Oh my darling Clementine." What the? I have no idea why, but I was singing that song, gripping the wire thingo for life. Once I was up to the highest point, whoosh down I came. The kids were looking a little anxious when I landed at the bottom. I would've got off there and then had they not been there. But I couldn't let them see I was scared, so up I went again...Lo and behold, I started singing Clementine again...So although the song has no relevance to the situation, it has a memory trigger for me now..lol |
