Date: 1/19/2013 11:43:00 AM From Authorid: 23075 I tend to not use the word hate, directed at anyone, anything, or whatever. I don't like the word hate, I generally do not swear at all, but have been known too on a very very rare occasion, I prefer the word dislike or don't like. |
Date: 1/19/2013 11:59:00 AM From Authorid: 66331 It can be a strong word but sometimes it must be used. It really depends on if you can forgive someone.....I think there is only 1 person I truely hate, he made my life a living hell for a few months. However I haven't heard from this person in years so this is good lol But I really try not to use the word to often, most of the time I can forgive someone if they did something horrible. - Haven |
Date: 1/19/2013 6:35:00 PM From Authorid: 11097 I do not use that word toward people, ever. I do think it is a strong word, but the meaning attached to it, is what is strong and negative. I hear people say things like "I hate when this happens... etc." but to use it toward someone with intention is not something I like or will use. Interesting debate! |
Date: 1/19/2013 7:48:00 PM From Authorid: 63118 I don't like the word when it is directed towards people, but I still use it when I'm angry. However, I do believe that when people say it, they are only hurting themselves and putting themselves in an even worse state of mind, seeing as they are letting somebody affect them in a negative way. It doesn't hurt the other person at all, and in fact may even make them feel better. |

I try not to use the word unless I really mean it. My most common use of hate come from me being a grammar Nazi. Such as, I hate when people say "Who you is? Where he work?" Things along that line. It just aggravates me to the bone. |

...just kidding on my last reply. The usage of the word hate has (or always has been) used to describe even the most mediocre dislikes. Sure, I HATE to wake up early on my day off. I HATE it when the guy ahead of me in the drive-through orders the whole menu and I have to wait for his wide load to be served. To be honest, I believe that the hate word has lost much of it's potenct over the years. As an older guy, the common usage of the word DOUC-E has, to me, become a bit of a sore spot. It seems like all propriety, manners, politeness and such have or are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. The new and proper way of greeting people seems to be a shooting. I hate that. |
Date: 1/20/2013 12:17:00 AM From Authorid: 53427 I have hate in my heart right now. Can't go into specifics. But I have a very good reason. Sure, its probably only hurting me, but in time, maybe I can change. But for now, I definitely hate a couple of someones. |

The word hate is over used, as is the word love. I'm sorry, but I really dislike it when people say I love you to complete strangers...eg On an American Idol promo a judge was telling a contestant that she loved him...Oh come on! Sorry off topic....lol |

The Hate word alone is a very benign thing...the emotion that drives it is what lends it it's power. It's no longer a word then, but an attitude...and, that there is the evil. Great post! Rated! HUGS |
Date: 2/26/2013 4:17:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 I think we all used the word at one time or another..but it is one word that I try not to use in general conversation..dislike is the word I try to use more... |
Date: 6/30/2013 4:45:00 AM From Authorid: 4144 I couldn't care less about the word. it's only a word that can be used in a lot of different ways. I tell my daughter I hate her everytime she puts on a size 5 pants!! she tells me she hates me everytime I hit a big jackpot at bingo. do we hate each other? no! wel maybe sometimes!!! |
