What is the green circle in my photos of the moon?

Recently, whilst on holiday at our family holiday house in the High Country of Victoria, Aust I took photos of the full moon.  I noticed a green circle on my photos when I was reviewing them.  After uploading them, I realised that the green circle had moved around a bit.  I also took photos with my phone, as did my hubby.  The green circle didn't appear on those shots.

Now, I thought it must have been something on my lens when I first noticed it...but if it was, it would be on the same spot in each photo..but, it certainly isn't.

I posted some of the pics on Facebook and one friend Googled and discovered that Venus could be the green circle in my photos.  A couple of others suggested ghost orbs.  Now, I don't usually believe in the orbs.  I do believe in spirits, but understand that photographs can be affected by light, water etc that can cause 'orbs'.

One of my friends suggested it was of a loved one, and asked if we were anywhere near where a loved one had passed.  As it happens, the holiday home was built by a very much loved uncle who had passed away almost 7 years ago.  We were there with his wife, one of his sons and 3 of his treasured grandchildren.  So the thought that it could've been him is comforting.

Having said that, the thought that I managed to capture Venus on film is exciting.

What do you think?  Have a look at some more at this link.....http://s1247.beta.photobucket.com/user/aussiegirltoo/library/#/user/aussiegirltoo/library/?&_suid=135735923041105759452416747961

Date: 1/4/2013 9:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 39107    also dust reflects the flash sometimes as well.
Date: 1/4/2013 9:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 26303    Have you looked at the other pics? It moves, so not sure if it is dust or not. Certainly not on the lens, else it would be in the same spot. Dust flying around? Why only pick up one particle? If it was a reflection, why does it move about? These are serious questions, as I really want to understand what it is...
Thanks for the replies.

Date: 1/4/2013 11:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 10075    Wow! Looks mottled on the 2nd picture - almost like a green moon!
Date: 1/5/2013 3:42:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 26303    Yeah it does look like that...
Date: 1/5/2013 6:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 27705    my guess is a reflection of another light that or the pollution has gotten so bad that the moon is turning green :-P
Date: 1/5/2013 9:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 66331    Honestly I first saw it and first thing that came to my mind is a orb....but its odd that its green, usually they are white. It really does look like a second moon if you look closely, that is crazy. - Haven
Date: 1/5/2013 10:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 66533    This is interesting. It looks so perfectly circular.. I thought of an orb too but don't orbs usually travel in groups?
Date: 1/5/2013 10:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 66533    It actually could be a planet..
Date: 1/5/2013 11:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 66331    No orbs dont always travel in groups....got lots of pictures with a single orb....however I have never seen them green....I thought it could be a planet as well but It seems to be a little to close to be another planet.
Date: 1/5/2013 1:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 11097    That's really awesome looking! Was it only on this picture or did you notice it on a few more? I am not sure what it could be, but it is quite a sight that is sure! It could be Venus, but it is very high in the sky to the moon. I am not sure what kind of camera you have but it's excellent to catch the moon and night sky like that, so it could be a planet, but then again, are there any pictures you took in the same place afterward that doesn't have it at all? Thanks for sharing
Date: 1/5/2013 1:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 11097    LOL @ Hekler... let's hope not!
Date: 1/5/2013 4:58:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 26303    Zelana, it's in lots of shots, and it moves around....not always in the same position...Venus was meant to be out and about that night...but funny how my camera picked it up..the naked eye didn't see it...if that is what it is..lol
Date: 1/5/2013 7:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 62722    The little people.
Date: 1/6/2013 8:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 26303    Ah! Thought that was you who commented in Photobucket Nani....lol...Yeah, I'm with you...I'd like to think it was Venus, but the trees are in the way....I did reply at photobucket...:-)
Date: 1/8/2013 10:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 66549    pretty neat... i've never seen anything like it.... #best seller
Date: 1/13/2013 5:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 39107    even dust inside the camera maybe
Date: 1/15/2013 3:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    What date was this taken? According to NASA the planet Jupiter was suppose to closer to earth, but I am not sure of the dates.

Date: 1/15/2013 3:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    The more I look at it, it looks like you captured Jupiter when it was the closes to earth. NASA says Jupiter and Saturn both would be easy to see in January. THat's a beautiful pic
Date: 1/15/2013 10:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 26303    It was taken on the 28th of December....I wish it was a planet, but it moves to the front of the trees...:-/
