I was so excited to arrive at the party, having travelled so far. As I emerged from the yellow cab (wow, my first ever ride in one of the iconics of the world)I met up with PsyGuy,Mrs.K, and Dark Silent Me. My first ever face to face with other USM members...my excitement was building, as I knew it was only a matter of moments before I met other members.
As we walked in the door, each laden with bags of food, Ginger greeted us. I recognised her long hair immediately....She asked that we go into the kitchen and start preparing the food under the guidance of our resident USM Chef Paddybear...It was so good listening to her pommy accent, I was almost in a trance. I was a little disappointed to be in the kitchen, and not out meeting other members. But as it was still in the afternoon, I knew my time would come. Besides, it was fun chatting to Psy about his book. Mrs K and Dark Silent Me were very interesting to listen to too...
Ginger wandered into the kitchen and was pulling together the ingrediants for a great punch....It was rather green, but still looked great. Now I'm known amongst my friends to be a bit of a prankster, but my USM buddies weren't onto me yet. I pondered whether or not I should spike the punch. Not for any other reason than to loosen everyone up a bit, and to warm us...I was missing the Aussie warmth at this time of year....LOL..
I saw Silversnake peek her head in, mmmm..is her name Regi I thought...as I was about to ask Ginger whistled to gain everyone's attention. She wanted us to all get ready for the party...So everyone left to their respective motels and or homes. Everyone except me. In my excitement I'd forgotten to ask for people's recommendations for the best motel in the area.
I walked around and found a bathroom and managed to make myself presentable for the party. I walked around the room of the party, admiring the decorations. I thought I'd check on the food situation and headed back to the kitchen. Mmmmm, no one is here, I might as well add a little whiskey to the punch, I thought. I grabbed the bottle I had in my bag and began to pour the golden fluid into the bowl of punch. I didn't want to over do it and make people drunk, drunk. So I only wanted to add about a 1/4 of the bottle.
As I was pouring it slowly into the punch, I thought I heard something. I jumped, dropping the bottle into the bowl. I turned around to see a dark figure walk passed the door. Damn! I fished out the now empty bottle of whiskey and called out to whomever was in the building with me. No one answered....okayyyyyyyy, now I was a tad creeped out.
I called out again, this time hearing a reply. It was Zema, looking beautiful in her brightly coloured dress. I was so relieved to see her, grabbing her in a big Aussie hug...we chatted for awhile. I asked her how she managed to change from her dark drab clothing to her stunning outfit in such a small amount of time. She laughed at me, and told me she arrived in what she was wearing....
As I was contemplating her answer more people arrived..Adora and her family, Paddy, Zelena arrived with Chrissy cards she'd made herself. Haunted and Zema wandered off to get themselves a glass of punch...hehehehe.. I thought, that punch certainly is packing more punch than they'll expect. As I turned to watch the dancers kicking it up on the dance floor, I caught a glimpse of the dark figure again. Was it my imagination going into overdrive? Was it jetlag catching up on me? I shrugged it off and decided to ask the DJ for one of my favourite dance song..... I was about to break out one of my signature moves when I noticed that Adora looked a little weird....like she was going to pass out. I would've helped, but Regi seemed to have it sorted. I started to worry that I'd put too much whiskey in the punch, I would hate to be the cause of someone falling ill.....But then I remembered the dark figure...maybe it had something to do with it?
