Yes! (Thanks for the hug btw!) 'Somewhere in Time' is one of my absolute favorites and 'Time Machine' is another good one. Between the two, I recommend 'Somewhere in Time' for sure. EVERYONE should see that! It's so neat. Here's a trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrEhKxYnKGs Also, Back to the Futures are good. ![]() |

Hallmark Channel is playing Christmas movies, for category 2 there is "A Carol Christmas" for category 4 there is "The 12 Dates of Christmas" And idk if this one is a Hallmark movie, but it's called "3 Days" about a man who loses his wife on Christmas Eve and an angel rewinds time for 3 days so the man can prove he loves her, if he doesn't she will die again. And I'm not sure if these will fall into category 1 or 5 but "The Family Man" with Nicholas Cage, and "Eve's Christmas" (Hallmark Channel) In the Family Man Nick Cage is taken to an alternate reality where he married his college sweetheart, they are married with two kids...etc, and in Eve's Christmas she is taken back in time to the week before her wedding, she called off the wedding the day before, so going back in time she has the choice to take the same path or go thru with the wedding. All the movies I listed are ones that I enjoy watching around this time of year. Hope you enjoy them too ![]() ![]() |

There are actually 3 butterfly effects. With that said if you pursue watching them please consider them to be independent from their previous installments. They are infinitely better perceived as independent movies with the same theme as sequels. ![]() |

Hmmm... there is 'Donnie Darko' and 'Southland Tales' they both deal with what your describing, the movie tone is a bit dark though, like 'The Butterfly Effect' which I love by the way ![]() I will stop back if I can think of any more! ![]() |

1) "It Happened One Christmas", starring Margo Thomas. This was a retelling of the "It's a Wonderful Life" story, with the leading character being female. I'd give it about seven out of ten stars (7/10). There was another version done on the show Married With Children in 1989 which was hilarious. Al (Ed O'Neill) gets electrocuted while putting up Christmas lights, and an angel (Sam Kinison) shows him what his life would be like if he had never been born. His wife Peggy (Katy Sagal) is shown to be married to a hunk, and his kids are perfect! Al goes back to his reality to get revenge on all of them! 2) This story has been done many, many times. My favorite version was done in 1984 with George C. Scott playing Scrooge, and David Warner as Bob Cratchit. I particularly like this one because there is a great scene where Janet Holywell (Caroline Langrishe) realizes that Scrooge is apologizing to her husband, and her face reflects disbelief, delight, and then a gentle love for the old man. I think it's probably one of the best scenes of an actress showing emotion on her face without speaking (difficult to do). 3) My favorite version of this one was on the series "Sliders", in the episode called "The Guardian". The Sliders enter a version of Earth that is about 20 years in the past, and Quinn (Jerry O'Connell) sees a younger version of himself on the worst day of his life: the day of his father's funeral! Knowing what is to come, Quinn steps in and gives his "double" the kind of help that he wished he could have had during that terrible time. 4) This was done on an episode of Stargate SG-1, but I don't recall the title of the episode, but the group was stuck in a loop until they got the cooperation of the person responsible to stop it. The best part about that episode was that the two characters stuck in the loop realized that they could get away with anything and suffer no punishment. This led to quite a few funny scenes! 5) The Sliders series has a group of people going from one dimension to the next. There was also a short-lived TV series in 1977 called The Fantastic Journey about a group of people in the Bermuda Triangle who kept visiting other dimensions. The Stargate SG-1 series also had two great episodes showing alternate realities: "There But for the Grace of God", and "Point of View". ![]() |
