Perhaps the time span between Genesis 1:25 and Genesis 1:26 would be millions of years, that is, years as we know it.

Perhaps during these millions of years prior to Adam and Eve, there were 3 divisions.

Perhaps these 3 divisions are what we refer to as prehistoric eras.

Luke 10:18 And Jesus said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from Heaven.

Perhaps Lucifer was an immortal Arch-Angel.

Perhaps moving at lightning speed and hitting the Earth might leave a huge crater.

Perhaps during this 1st Age, Satan still had contact with some of the Angels or Watchers that remained in Heaven.

Perhaps Satan seduced a third of the host of Angels to join him on Earth, and they came.

Perhaps Satan is a title and not a name.

Perhaps this entire collection of fallen Angels were refered to as The Satans, collectively and individually.

Perhaps the Satans were bound to Earth's Atmosphere, and could not leave on their own power.

Perhaps the Satans could only leave Earth's Atmosphere by manufacturing some sort of vehicle.

Perhaps the Satans did not want to do all the mining themselves for the ores needed to make their vehicles.

Perhaps the Satans started sinning against the apes, begetting what we refer to as neanderthals or cave-men, to be used as a slave race to do their mining.

Perhaps at the end of this Age, God caused cataclysms to destroy these abominations.

Perhaps after these events, God restored the Earth to Genesis 1:25.

Perhaps at the beginning of the next Age the Satans crawled out of their hole, and started again.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Perhaps the Satans now have another genetically altered abomination of some sort, more advanced than the ones of the previous Age.

Perhaps the were never any missing links, especially connected to man.

Perhaps the Satans were sinning against all of God's creations, mixing of species, introduction of thier own DNA hence all of the mythical beasts of legend and lore.

Perhaps there is more to some of the old tales and epic poetry of ancient Greece, and all cultures and peoples.

Perhaps God creates a huge beast. Separates the two from the one, and He calls the male Behemoth and He called the female Leviathon.

Perhaps God placed Behemoth on the ground in the desert of Dudael, to curtail the abominations and the hybrid beasts which we now call dinosaurs of all varieties.

Perhaps God placed Leviathon in the sea, to have her fun with the abominations of the waters.

Perhaps mermaids and sirens and such are all abominations.

perhaps any creature with the body of a beast of any kind and a human looking even distorted face or the body of a human with the head and or other features of beasts of birds or sea animals, are all abominations generated by the Satans.

Perhaps these abominations were completly littering the Earth.

Perhaps the civilizations of Sumeria, Lemuria, Atlantis and some 200 other cities that are now on the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, were cultures of Abominable beings generated by the Satans and is why they were never listed in the Scriptures.

Perhaps another high ranking Angel falls to Earth, and lands off the shore of Mexico, with enough force to wipe out everything, ending the Age.

Perhaps God restores the Earth to Genesis 1:25 and continues into Genesis 1:26.

Perhaps the Holy Bible contains the rest of the events, with also the writing of Enoch.

Perhaps our history books tell events as they really happened, perhaps not.
