I had watched the movie "The Prisoner of Zenda" the 1952 version with Stewart Gardner. I would have like to have seen the Ronald Colemans' 1936 black and white version. The TCM channel on cable, had the 1952 version its was a study in chivaly, personal honor, and how many different brilliant colors the King of Prussia had worn. I had to wonder is there a different uniform for each days of the week? While I was on the pondering, I had noticed a Gemini plot is universal. In the prizoner of Zenda the unknown Kings cousin comes to do some fishing but winds up being the look a like stand in for the king. In your memories of school, could you remember, "The Tale of Two Cities" and the "Prince and the Pauper". The first mentioned is set during the French Revolution, where one man not related to the prince dies on the guilotine to save the prince who is well loved by a woman. I had the thin recallection that Tyron Powers played in this movie? The Last gemini movie I had seen was "The Prince and the Pauper". It was similar to the Zenda, except it was about two young boys in England when Edward the First died. In this one , Errol Flynn played a broke soldier of fortune who decides to protect the youth thinking him to be the pauper and later believe the tale that he is the young prince made king. There is a more recent gemini story made in to a movie. The Story of "The Man in the Iron Mask" by Alexander Dumas. It is in this tale, the four Musketeers are matured and have gone their ways when the musketeer regiment had been disbanded by the new rulers of France who control the teenage King who is really a dupicate of the real young King played by Leonardo DiCaprio. I think it might have been one of the DiCaprios first roles. I wonder who, had the gemini plot first? Monsieur Dumas, wrote during to 1500s I guess his was first? do you know of others? I had enjoyed the movie imensely, its a good popcorn and Cola adventure movie to watch.
