Date: 10/16/2012 9:08:00 PM From Authorid: 42519 I'm not amused. Any"childhood friend" wouldn't be calling him "Marilyn" they would call him Brian. And Brian doesn't go out on daily things dressed like he does on stage. He's not in makeup, likely in a cap and jeans, and the contacts he wears are put away. Not amused. Sorry. |

I am continually amused by the fact that so many people still believe that the place is a haunted house. It is a documented fact that the whole thing was a hoax. The following quote comes from the Internet Movie Database, "In 1979, attorney William Weber (Ronald DeFeo's defense attorney) filed a lawsuit against George and Kathy Lutz, charging them with fraud and breach of contract. He alleged that they reneged on an agreement to collaborate with Weber on the book (and subsequent movie). In an interview with the Associated Press, Weber admitted that he and the Lutzes had concocted the horror story scam '...over many bottles of wine.'" |

This is jughead67.I'd like to say if anyone is offended by Marilyn Manson's depiction in this story, sorry. No I did not know his real name is Brian or Micheal or Bob, for that matter. It's just a story People. It's called fiction for a reason. It's a free country.Don't read part two.Write your own. I depict Marilyn(Brian, oops) in the early days, when he was thinner and was seen quite a lot in his Gothic attire. As for the house being haunted.who knows?.....people forget there was an entire family( the defeos) murdered in cold blood in 1974.Maybe someone who is not a medium, would not see or feel any of the houses residual energy. There have been no reports since the klutziest family left the house behind.jughead67. |

Yes, there was a family murdered there, but their killer had the oldest motive in the world: money. Ronald DeFeo slaughtered his family for the large amount of cash in the home as well as for the insurance policies on the family members. I have read the newspaper accounts of that trial. At no time did the defense mention ghosts or hauntings as a motive. It was pure, murderous greed. As for the Lutzes, it is widely believed that they could not afford the mortgage payments on the house. By claiming the house was haunted they could exploit a loophole in the sales agreement and get out of it. Pretty clever, don't you think? |

Well, I believe George Lutz- passed away a while ago and I don't knows about wife.I know Ron defeo is still sitting( I think on death row?)I've seen footage of the house inside.Only about two years Ago.It looks quite normal.but uhh.The beds arein the same position as the deseased were in the 1970's .It kind of creepy.People get these houses cheaper when there's a violent history. The owners are supposed to divulge that now( in some States) it called "your house might be haunted so your getting this house cheap:, because of the triple, double, suicide, history of house clause. Oh, well maybe someday someone will turn it into a B and B....any takers?.jughead67 |
