Date: 9/18/2012 2:02:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Someday I hope we can welcome these people into the 21st century. It seems there is an element that is happy living in the 15 th century with the suppression of woman and general overall ignorance. Did you know more books are translated into Spanish in Spain than in all the Arab countries put together? When you think the only knowledge you need comes from one book, no wonder there is such fantiscism. We don't help by feeding into their derangement. My belief has always been people want to be free, but with the governments these people have freely elected, I have to question that regarding Muslims in general. |

Date: 9/18/2012 3:38:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Hey, did you see a French magazine is going to publish cartoons of Mohammad?. One of their offices was bombed a few years ago for the same thing. It's sad when the French are braver than our "press" or our entertainment industry. |

Date: 9/18/2012 4:06:00 PM From Authorid: 21435 I bet the common everyday Muslim might get a tiny bit pissed about the movee, but would blow it off in a very short time. Working shmucks like us have only so much time and energy to devote to such things. We have to concentrate on more important things like supporting our families, staying alive, etc... You know? Stuff like that. What really burns me is the way that millitants use such silliness to incite the masses. Average, god fearing people often go along because they fear to be "the person who didn't demonstrate," which in those countries can have serious implications. The lives of their own countrymen mean nothing to the "rabble rousers." Only thing they care about is their own selfish agendas. Paint bulls eyes on some of those creeps, I say. Let "them" know "the fear," for a change. Write on, King. |
Date: 9/18/2012 4:17:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 Kronk, and that is the sad thing. I saw pictures of a counter protest some Libyans put on, apologizing for the murder of our Ambassador and I thought, those poor people are now targets. You look at Egypt and the kind of government they voted in and it makes me think I will never understand them. They had a fighting chance at some sort of democracy, and the new government is actually crucifying their opponents. As a rule, crucifixion isn't a good way to start off a freely elected government. |

Also, “Article 18 and 27 of the ICCPR, adopted by the United Nation, stipulate that the religion and the rights of the minorities should be respected,” The US government is a signatory to this covenant and has to respect it. Therefore, an individual or an NGO (non-governmental organization) can file a lawsuit against the president of the country for breach of the covenant. Date: 9/19/2012 9:34:00 AM From Authorid: 15228 So I guess when Egypt showed the 10 part mini series based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, in which Jews were portrayed as killing non Jewish children and drinking their blood, they were in violation of the UN covenant? Or did the UN take that as an opportunity to pass a resolution against Jews drinking the blood of children? |

There was a Missionary pastor who recently spoke about conditions for Christians in Egypt and it is outrageous what is going on. Christians have been banished for years and the only place they were given to live; if they survive the systematic murder and public hangings or burnings is the trash dumps. So for years they have been "allowed" to live there. They survived but were allowed outside drinking water. When the "liberation" of Egypt and Libya happened, the Muslim Brotherhoods came in and would not allow them access to any water but the contaminated black muck water in the dumps. Through prayer and faith in God this Pastor has a friend in Germany who his a higher up at Siemens, they just so happen to have water purification systems that could clean the water to at least 96% pure, they cost thousands of dollars but he sold them to these fellow believers for 600$ a unit. They were able to get 25 of these units. It totally caught the local Muslim officials off guard but they had publicly given their word and could not back out of it. This pastor has a family and wanted to stay here in East Texas but after intense prayer, God has directed him to go back, he is a brave man with a brave family and a true believer in Jesus Christ. It is amazing what God does for those who trust in him. The conditions for Christians there are in the Middle East are horrendous, it is like circa 200 A.D. The West is turning away from God and God will be turning away from us. I truly believe this is the Last Days. |
Date: 9/19/2012 11:31:00 AM From Authorid: 15228 Bruiex, stuff like that just burns me. I've heard some of these protestors say that they don't disrespect our prophets so no one should disrespect Mo....no, they just disrespect the believers of other religions. It's fine to ban and burn the bible, but don't you dare touch their precious koran. Of course they don't trash Moses or Jesus because they've taken them and incorporated them into their religion. |

Sorry but I've been watching this post... And ummm. Ok. Let me just start by saying this: I don't quite understant where you are finding the silencing of free speech for 1. No one (In the U.S.) has said to the creators of the film that they can't create or distribute it. No one has told Newsweek that they can't produce a cover with "Shock Value" garbage, either. I'm all for our freedom of speech and expression, but one of my favorite lessons in life has been: Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. As for all the dispariaging comments about Islam I will just say this: The people who are protesting and becoming violent, represent a miniscule group of the population of the members of this religion. I am frankly disgusted at those comments, and find them highly offensive. It's sort of like if I were to say "All Christians are right wing gun toting wacko's that like to bomb abortion clinics, and kill people in the name of being pro-life..." -_- |
Date: 9/20/2012 3:15:00 AM From Authorid: 49101 BTW Kelly, the Quran has been around about as long as your NT. So the very notion that Islam has "incorporated" Jesus and Moses into their religi,on as though they are doing it like it's the cool thing or something... Is so unbelievably ignorant I am embarrased FOR you. |

And finally... I'm so tired of all the close minded anti-Islam blabber. Everywhere I go it's there screeching at you like some spoiled 2 year old child. Wake up Americans! You aren't peorfect and your people kill just as much if not more than the Middle Eastern fanatics. We have terrorists here in the U.S. and they aren't the Muslim kind. They are the ones who blow up abortion clinics, make bomb threats, shoot up movie theatres, bomb Federal buildings and so on and so on and so on.... But we are sooooooo busy up everyone elses nose telling them how to live, believe and such, we can't seem remove the LOG from our own eyes. I'm truly just sickened by what I've read here. Sickened and highly dissapointed. But I'm sure you'll just pat yourselves on the back some more for being so "insightful"... |

Hey MrsK, , the Koran has not been around as long as the bible. Why deny the simple truth that if you are of another faith and live in many Muslims countries, your life isn't as important?? In Saudi Arabia the bible is completely banned. In many muslim countries you get the death sentence or jail time for converting to another religion or for blasphemy. As for free speech, check out the picture of the film maker being taken in for questioning. We're suppose to understand the culture of the middle east, how about they try to understand us? Our State department had no excuse in apologizing for a legally made film..a stupid film for sure and not one I would support, but it is the right of people to make ignorant films. You know and I know there is now a hit out on him. I always find it interesting that after church services, where the clerics rile up the congregation, Muslims often take to the streets in violent protest. In what other religion do we see that happen? The thing about Islam, it is as much a political force as a religious force. |

We're supposed to understand the culture and anger in the Middle East - because we have been meddling in their affairs for about a century now. Well guess what folks??? It's coming back to bite you all in the butt now. I am not celebrating 9-11. That was attrocious to be sure. But lets take a look back in history and see how many Middle Easterners we've murdered in the name of politics and oil and supposed human rights, when what we're really doing is telling everyone else how to live. And I for one and am sick of the hypocrisy. |

"We don't help by feeding into their derangement." that is such a fascist statement I can't believe someone of your intelligence would even utter it. I am so freaking disgusted by this conversation I could literally vomit. And then you have the audacity to say "Why deny the simple truth that if you are of another faith and live in many Muslims countries, your life isn't as important??" What about here??? Where women are being oppresse in that they are being FORCED by LAW to undergo invasive ultrasounds against their will??? Ever thought about that??? Oh and HEY! THANKS RIGHT WING CHRISTIANS FOR THAT LITTLE BIT OF LEGISLATURE! 100% HYPOCRISY! |

You wanna hold every household of Muslim belief in the Mid East for opressing women Kelly??? Ok, I hold YOU personally responsible for EVERY SINGLE RAPE that happens in this nation. Every single himan trafficking victim is YOUR FAULT. Yours alone! I hope you are proud of your fanatical beliefs that allow for such opression and call it some twisted form of freedom. Thanks to you, men in our country think it's ok to rape a woman and murder her family. Great Job! Does that put your rhetoric into perspective for you? It's exactly what you're saying about EVERYONE in the Mid East. |

It is stated in the Islamic scripture over 90 times that Mohammed is the example by which all Muslims are to follow and imitate. In those same Islamic scriptures, Mohammed says things often like, “I have been made victorious through terror” and “terrorize the unbelievers.” Examples such as these are in no short supply, and anyone doing a simple Google search can find such passages, supported by chapter and verse. |

Here's an idea: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Take responsibility for your words and actions. Admit when you make a mistake. Understand that while we were ALL CREATED EQUALLY (i.e., in the same manner) that that is the only similarity WE ALL POSSESS. Quit trying to make us humans EQUAL (all the same), because we are NOT! Dear God, Please Forgive and Grant Wisdom to those who believe that you did not create us all as UNIQUE HUMAN BEINGS, each of us original by Your Design. God Bless. |

Date: 9/20/2012 4:01:00 PM From Authorid: 15228 I don't understand you, MrsK. How can you defend so many Islamic countries that suppress and persecute not only religious minorities, but liberals and free thinkers as well. I'm sorry, but it has a lot to do with the Muslim religion, the kind they practice anyway. That is an undeniable truth. Not for most Muslims in this country I'm happy to say, who seem to understand the American tradition of living in peace with other religions. |

I did enjoy the story I read today of an Iranian cleric who told an Iranian woman she wasn't covered properly, she told him he should cover his eyes and not look, he repeated that she wasn't covered properly, she proceeded to clobber him..he said the next thing he knew he was on the ground and being kicked. He was in the hospital for 3 days...he was whining about it of course. When you've got religious police going around and instructing woman on their dress, that doesn't sound voluntary to me. Lets cut the crap and quit pretending woman in the Middle East want to cover themselves. Lets quit pretending religous minorities are treated well. I'm tired of pretending. obama has apologized and has been staying out of the middle east soap opera crap, and they still kill our Ambassadore and several others. Lets treat them like human beings and quit making excuses for them.and hold them responsible for their own actions. |

Ummmm... Ok. I don't mind wearing my hijab when I go into a Mosque, and I don't mind wearing one for my husbands religious gatherings, and I know lots of Christian women (Menonites) who also cover their heads and don't mind, along with Nuns... Why is it so hard for you to think outside the box and realize not everyone has the same values as you??? Why is it so hard for you to accept that they are a different culture with different ideals and concepts of modesty? Also - the Quran states a woman should gaurd her modesty by covering her head and hair and such. There is nothing in the Quran that states to cover their faces and wear heavy garments neck to deck. THAT is a Cultural practice, which is one of the biggest issues Americans have in their judgements of Middle Eastern countries - the innability to differentiate between a cultural practice and a religious one. Not that it should matter - considering it isn't really our place to judge. And I defend the freedom of the people in those countries to live as they chose, and not as YOU or our government choses FOR them. And finally Kelly - placing a blanket generalization on a people in a place you've never been to or interacted with is an abomination of free thought in itself. |
Date: 9/21/2012 12:10:00 PM From Authorid: 51876 I will say this, it is true that :Christians" have done horrible things and committed Genocide and other atrocities, these are Anti-Christs who pervert the truth to drive mankind from the happiness, grace, mercy and love from our saviour who never would condone such things. History has proven over and over again that madmen twist truth to fit their own selfish motives. What is happening in these countries amounts to nothing but secular war and being committed on those who do not embrace their dominance over the populace, it is just another form of evil power tripping. |
Date: 9/24/2012 9:01:00 AM From Authorid: 19613 KC, when the United States ratified the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, they did so with the explicit reservation that nothing in the Covenant could infringe upon rights to freedom of expression. It wouldn't be possible to take a lawsuit in this case, for that reason. Any potential lawsuit over the film in question would be thrown out on those grounds. |
