The information to be cited was gathered from the Jackson County Chamber of Commerence, Sylva, North Carolina. There was a website, www.nc-mountains.com , for the curious. This is supposed to be a sacred site and a total mystery t modern archeologists. No one knows who made the hieroglyphicc symbols on this fourteen-foot-wide soapstone boulder. The strange symbols include seven-fingered hand prints, humaan figures, and geometric shapes. According to Cherokee legends, going back around 1,000 yrs. or more, the rock was created by a "one-eyed giant" called "Judaculla".The symbols, supposedly,"codified laws of hunting and fishing and respect for the balance of nature".I can only say it is impressive.Info. obtained from own notes and Chamber of Commerance material.
