I like it. That's a great example they used. Basically, they're comparing giving away GPA to our tax system, which is the most progressive in the western world. The top 10 percent pay 70 percent of all income taxes, yet they are reviled and called selfish for not paying more. wouldn't it be selfish for people who have earned a good GPA not to share the wealth with others less brainy and less hardworking? |

This is just a satire on the current tax situation. The slacker students (think those that don't make money) want the over achievers (think rich) to share their good grades (think money) So it is absurd when you talk about grades so why isn't it absurd when we talk about taxes. |

I personally do not feel that grades and taxes can be compared as something similar. Many people are born into money and come from rich families and never have to EARN their income. It's that "They come from money" saying. But everyone enters college with the same GPA and with the same opportunities to keep their grades up or let them fall. I have failed college courses for many reasons: being lazy or missing a lot of class due to my medical issues. I would never expect someone who worked REALLY hard to have a high GPA to have to give me part of that so I can meet the MINIMUM requirements for graduation. |

Actually, the people that are "born" into money are not going to be affected by taxes because there money is in trust. The Kennedy family and Rockafellers for example. They've already got There money and could give a dang about the people out there working hard to get to where their families are. It's all about mouthing the right opinion so they feel better about there wealth. |
