i don't ever post anything that is work related outside of comments of, "what a good productive day" or something like that i can not access social media from work (i teach) but can on my phone and during periods like lunch or when kids are at special i do use my phone to look around on the internet. |
Date: 4/22/2012 3:09:00 PM From Authorid: 43991 I'm a pre-school teacher.. and I've only worked there about a month. I have never asked about it, but have never been told anything either. |
Date: 4/22/2012 9:33:00 PM From Authorid: 37843 Some of my work relates to giving medication and medical issues that my clients have, to post something about that stuff online or even tell people who aren't directly involved in client care would be a violation of HIPAA so posting about it on social media sites would get us fired. I'm not sure we really have a social media policy in place, it's just kind of common sense. We do post about the spirits that haunt the house and are still looking for someone to help us deal with that. And I've been known to post when they short my check because I'm really ticked about it... Maybe they should look into a social media policy? |
Date: 4/22/2012 10:18:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 25481 I think it's a hard thing to determine what someone can and can't post on THEIR own page. I mean I understand both sides. I just am a believer in having our own rights. So yeah. I think maybe someone should be written up if it can be PROVEN that they posted something on their page. I.E. a screen shot of the post indicating time and date. Here say would not suffice. If the behavior continues then they would be dismissed. |
Date: 4/23/2012 6:16:00 AM From Authorid: 28848 No my company doesn't, as far as I know. I work from home and use my own personal computer and internet service, so I guess that's not applicable. I'm so glad I work from home. |
Date: 4/23/2012 3:48:00 PM From Authorid: 45948 I too work at a hotel and I don't think we have any kind of policy like that, but at the same time I don't post anything on the internet that I wouldn't want my mother to read. |
Date: 4/23/2012 4:29:00 PM From Authorid: 23963 Yes, the company that I work for has a long social media policy that we must follow. Its very long, and I briefly read over it. Its very detailed, I should go back over and it and read it again. |
